So further to an earlier post, why is it that some people just don’t realise that because they are friends with 2 people they will automatically be friends? Or to extend that even further why can they not understand that they (the other two) may not even get along.
Some people just have such a simple view of life.
Month: September 2001
Not in work today, woke up this morning with a splitting headache, so slept in for hours and spent the day watching movies 🙂
I’m watching “Fail Safe” Good movie. It’s set during the Cold War and is a remake of a 1964 movie of the same name with a difference. The movie was filmed and aired live, with wonderful performances from the entire cast. A friend lent this to me and recommended it and I eventually got to watching it, I really enjoyed it and it has a great ending 🙂
Now moved onto “Payback” Nothing great, but a fun movie 🙂
Followed by another Mel Gibson movie, “Lethal Weapon 4” yeah I know it’s a quiet lazy sad day and I am feeling ALOT better 🙂
Ok, comments are working, the iframe is working fine and contains everything down the right. I need to update it so will get to that sometime soon. The archives need work for both blogs, but we shall get there. ST IV nearly over gonna get some sleep 🙂
It didn’t win. “Counterpoint” I think I have seen this Voyager ep, I don’t recall it being all that good.
It wasn’t…there is no way this was better than the DS9 or TOS episodes available for choice
New footage from Enterprise 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Star Trek night on BBC 2. Not been feeling too well today and was just thinking earlier that I wanted to watch one of the Trek movies. Later tonight we have “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home“. So that’s the plan for the evening, stay online and watch Trek in the background.
Nevermind in the background right now DS9’s “Trials and Tribble-ations.” A homage to the original Trek having the DS9 crew appear during the events of Star Trek’s “The Trouble With Tribbles“. A specific highlight is seeing Dax in a mini-skirt “and women wore less” 🙂 The entire crew actually look great in the original uniforms and the effects of inserting the DS9 crew are really excellent.
“You can’t just dismiss it” Bashir
“I can try!” O’Brien
I’ve rung the poll and voted online a few more times than I should have (I know I’m sad) but I can only hope DS9’s “Far Beyond the Stars” wins the vote and is shown. It’s one of the best ever produced.
I am gonna be so broke when they finally release these on DVD. DS9 requires purchase.
I’ve just read the account of a friend of mine who was on the first floor of the WTC on Tuesday morning. He got out and home to his family “safely” but jesus it’s not something I ever want to read again. It’s suddenly going to be alot harder to see that footage again. I could read accounts or headlines but its now safe to say the point has been driven home
CoyoteVille! – The webcomic that stays crunchy in milk! “As you are reading this, there are probably some lone Yorkers swimming across the atlantic towards afghanistan weilding nothing but a plastic spork to give palestine a piece of his or her mind. And if anyone would know how to weild the most damage with a spork, it would be a New Yorker”
Humour good
About 18 months ago, I left home and moved to another country for a massive job opportunity. (Dublin to London) I don’t regret it. Career wise it was a wonderful move and some other things turned out really well too. I’ve gotten to do alot of travel since then for myself and the notion of me being sent on a business while once foreign become if not regular, always there.
I’ve made alot of friends here, I work with some great people who were pretty good at the making feel welcome. I guess I was lucky in that someone else just moved to London and the same dept as me from another country and we ended up good friends.
But there have also been the downsides, through various problems (not all of them my fault) such as e-mail addresses dying and loosing my mail, and my mobile been stolen (with all my numbers in the sim card and damn right I keep a paper copy now, why do we always learn the hard way?) it left me without contact details for alot of people. Some I was able to get to through mutual friends others I was not. I’ve only managed to spend a little time in Dublin since I moved most of it on business so the chances of bumping into them at local haunts was never great. One time I felt certain I would meet some was at a con in London earlier in the year, in the most ironic of all things I was sent on a pretty important trip and spent over 3 weeks in the US. This had an upside as I got to meet some online friends, some of whom are real special. The downside was other online friends were in London for the con and I missed them. (Online friends is just a description I work online and AIM is the primary method of communication for me. I don’t differentiate between online and “rl” friends.)
I don’t know what I am saying here, there are some people who I would really like to get in touch with, could I be more proactive about it? yeah possibly, but it’s pretty hard.
What brought this on? well I ran into somepeople I had not seen in a while, but the events of the week aswell I guess. So far I think I’ve been pretty lucky I don’t know anyone hurt, missing or worse. But I know people that do.
I wasn’t going to comment or say anything really in this post, but I guess just appreciate the people while you have them.
