Metro this morning, The largest prime number in the world has been discovered. it is 2^13,466,9117-1. It was discovered by a volunteer in an internet project called “Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search” (GIMPS). When you can work for SETI or work to cure Cancer or Alzheimers with Intel…but hey go work out a big number only divisble by itself and 1……It took 13,000 computer hours to work this out…
