You know the year is ending on a high. This has possibly been the best month so far.Nothing bad has happenend, everything that I hoped would simply work out has worked out better than I could ever hope. Couple of other big highlights in the year would be the whole N2K week, a ‘business trip’ to the US which of course includes meeting a really good friend and the other major high, no prizes for guessing what that is 🙂

In a word December has been sweet 🙂

Right the new Spiderman trailer rocks, I am really looking forward to this movie. I was not sure about the casting, but it looks like it has played out ok. Spiderman looks and acts like the Spiderman we know and love, but he does seem a tad powerful, crashing through walls was never a Spidey kinda thing…..

I fucking hate christmas. It never occours to ANYONE how pig-ignorant and offensive it is to automatically assume that christmas is a celebration for everyone in the world. For about 6 weeks from the middle of November you have to put up with it everywhere. It’s bad enough that the celebration is is based on a fiction and the 25th is a date that was selected as being around the time. Why do people have such a hard time accepting that because they choose to celebrate something (anything) it should NOT be taken for granted that every or indeed anyone else does.

Yes I feel strongly about it, I resent that for a long period every single year I have no choice but to put up with xmas tress, decorations etc etc etc..

*SIGH*

Right well to update on the party….I don’t remember making the last post at all yesterday, I thought this was the first in a few days so that should tell you the state of my mind yesterday morning.

I’ve just updated to Trillian v0.70 and it rocks. It really is an upgrade in every sense of the word. There are so many new features been brought in, a whole new look for the interface and some great improvements in the normal features. If you use any chat client, even just the one, go check this one out 🙂

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. I’m getting hooked, this is bad I was playing it till 4 am this morning and will have to play some more before bed. It’s basically Age of Empires with lightsabres and Jedi and Sith and Wookies and X- Wings and lots of cool stuff 🙂 🙂

Further update, this new Trillin is CLASS!, if somsone types BRB at you, it hangs a little sign up instead

Work party last night was good, started off very slowly but picked up alot later in the night. As always the morning after is rough 😉

Reading the latest of Peter David’s “New Frontier” series and really enjoying it. This weekend is cleaning time, I have to catch up with alot of washing and do some stuff around the flat.

My mobile was bust so I used it as a chance to upgrade, have a nice new 3330, nothing spectacular, but it is nice 🙂

From AOL news
“A scene with Britney in her underwear has reportedly been re-shot with her wearing a school uniform instead.”

have you ever just wanted to be able to say “I belong”? Just to feel like you are a part of a group? It would be nice

First to start with a confession. I have not read any of “Lord of the Rings”. When I was young (7 8 ish) I was given a copy of “The Hobbit” and well I hated it. It completely put me off reading anything else by Tolkien.

Today I saw an early preview of “The Fellowship of the Ring”. I arrived with some friends from work at 9 am as instructed for a 10 am showing. We kinda made our own queue and were among the first into the cinema through some heavy security. As a result we had really wonderful seats and settled in to wait till the movie began. The narration at the start is really top-notch,it tells the viewers exactly what they need to know and it drives the story along. Aside from that the battle it shows is truly epic, the effects used here were spot on and really help to emphasise the scale of the events being viewed. Also it is worth pointing out that some of the best effects were not cgi, the orcs had really great masks and they looked like some scary mother….

Speaking of spot-on, the casting. Every single actor seemed to shine in their roles particular standouts were as Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Viggo Mortensen as Aragon, the always reliable Christopher Lee as Saruman and a really fine showing from Hugo Weaving as Elrond.

I would have to go with Legolas as my favourite character in the end, with a strong showing from Aragon, but the bow action from Legolas at one stage just amazed me. I would not be surprised to see some Oscar nods to the cast in the acting department. My only real disappointment was that it ended and left me wanting to see more, perhaps more than any other movie I have seen in a long time. The music didn’t really make an impact on me, I had thought it would.

Other than that, my lunch hour tomorrow will include a trip to a book shop to pick up the books. I don’t want to wait a year and 8 days to see “The Two Towers” 🙁
