Oh I decided to stick with Blogger for the time being for the simple fact of bloging with AIM via Bloggerbot

Way back when in Dublin, I use to hang out with a fairly large group of people all sci-fi geeks of some sort, it was how we all met at the begining. Long lost touch with alot of them some even before the move to London. But I just got a mail from a friend who I think meant to bcc it to everyone she was sending it to, nevertheless she did not and I have some of their e-mail addresses. Funny thing is, I had such a crush on one of the girls, and it went no-where, it was pretty obvious to everyone (despite my belief otherwise) and I never got her e-mail address. I do now 🙂 Seriously tho might drop a mail or two around just to see how everyone is doing.

A Blogger feature that I would love to see as I am lazy and will suggest when it’s all back to normal is posting templates. I want to have something with each post about music and reading so I know looking back what was going on but am kinda lazy to write it in all the time…. it would be nice.. i.e.

aha I have been googleisd…wow I I’d always been impressed with google, but wow

Brien Michael Bendis is a god. I’ve been a fan of his writing for quite a while now, like many others I discovered his work through ‘Powers’ from Image Comics. The first TPB “Who Killed Retro Girl” completly hooked me and after reading it I went for some of his older stuff, “Fire”, “Jinx”, “AKA Goldfish” and his more recent Marvel stuff of “Ultimate Spiderman”, “Ultimate Marvel Team-Up”, the wonderful MAX series “Alias”. I’ve mentioned him a couple of times before in this blog, but the second Powers TPB “Roleplay” really cinched it. The man is the best writer writing at the moment and yes that includes Alan Moore (although I do love Top Ten). It’s worth noting however that Gaiman is not doing comics ar the mo. 🙂

In other news, just reading over on Dark Horizons LotR has already make enough to cover the costs of the entire trilogy. That’s impressive. Speaking of, reading and really enjoying the book at the moment. Quite surprised at the large part Gollum plays in “The Twin Towers” but really liking the character. Roll on the next movie.

Stay in last night for New Years, we had a nice dinner and then watched a movie called “State and Main“, enjoyable comdey type thing, with the always excellent Willaim H Macy as the director a movie with a few small location problems and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the writer.

And so my boss knows about this now…good thing the archives ain’t available 😉

Right, new layout it up and still under work. Not sure whether to bother with restoring the comments. Will see how it goes. Post from last week that I saved just below.

24 is rapidly developing into one of my favourite shows. I’ve just watched the two of the latest eps, bringing me up to 5am and I am eagerly awaiting the next part. That will be high on the list of things to do tomorrow I am not surprised to read that it’s picked up 2 Golden Globe nominations for Best Drama Series (high praise after 4 episodes) and Best Actor for Keifer Sutherland who is excellent as Jack Bauer.
I have to also say I am very impressed with Fox’s 24 website, it’s very well done, style and content 🙂
