Re-runs of TJ Hooker…
Month: March 2002
Despite all promises of an easy night and no beer, a couple of pints were had before coming home. Damn I have to work on my willpower.
Latest comic, StrangeHaven: Arcadia by Gary Spencer Millidge. Well written, well drawn, left me wanting more. I will get more tomorrow. There was nothing in particular about the book, but all together it just had that something special that really worked. Guess I’ll never make a professional reviewer but it’s not like your gonna read it cause I say so π
As the Web Matures, Fun Is Hard to Find (NYT free reg required | via MetaFilter)
This is all so true. The web is nothing like as fun to me as it was when I first started out about 5 years ago. I know where I’m going and I go there. I don’t surf anymore, there is no longer any fun to it. I get my fix of fun from Meta Filter, blogdex, the WEF and all the blogs I read.
In really good news of the day, Radiohead are planning a world tour and a new album. π π
Oh and Peter David and Joe Quesada: The End(?)
lets hope its a happily ever after π
In what ended being a quiet night, a few of us from work went out to play pool. Work was taking its toll and everyone was tired so there was a lack of drinking and indeed good playing. I was in fact home by 10.
I am really looking forward to the long weekend. Time to myself to just do as I please will be good. I have a fair bit of reading to catch up on and some DVD’s to be watched.
Speaking of DVD’s, I’m just waiting for the special edition of fucking Batman and Robin as it’s written by a no Oscar winning writer. Fuckers the lot of them.
The new Spiderman trailer ROCKS. Get it here. It’s so Spiderman, they certainly have captured the look of the comics, which a great standout scene on the flagpole.
Ok here we go.
Someone asks you a question. You tell them the answer to their question and what the next step is to solve this question.
+
They go away and ask someone else the same question. The other person tells them the same thing but does alot of work for them aswell.
+
They go away and the problem is solved. Then you find out they e-mailed someone else asking the same question they have just gotten the answer to from two people.
+
That person (not knowing any of this) then forwards the mail back you asking you to help them out with the same question you answered in the first place.

I got one of the more normal im’s yesterday evening; “beer?” and so the plan was set. However a few minutes later I remember that the PCC was showing the directors cut of “LΓ©on“. Plans were quickly changed. So we headed into town and had some dinner. Then went to the cinema. I hadn’t actually seen “LΓ©on” before, I don’t know how but I had never quite managed to catch it. I really enjoyed it. π
Right some comics stuff, despite the first Starman collection not really doing anything for me, I picked up the second one after encouragement from the good folks at the WEF. This I enjoyed, in fact I enjoyed it a lot. I did spend a while in work yesterday wondering about just going into the kitchen sitting down and reading it. I didn’t but I finished it last night and I will be picking up more.
Again thanks to the WEF, I’ve picked up and read Brian Wood‘s Channel Zero and Couscous Express. Both were good solid reads, the art on Couscous Express was a bit of a turn off but story wise it was highly enjoyable. Channel Zero was easily the better of the two and I look forward to picking up more stuff from Brian Wood and indeed from AiT/Planet Lar
Thought for the day, If only slapping people was an acceptable facet of motivation.
