I hate macs
Month: April 2002
Jet lag is a bad thing. It’s not as bad as it usually is. We went for a nice dinner a couple of hours after we checked in and the steak was wonderful. Went to bed around 11ish and slept through until 7. Gonna go for breakfast soonish and then off to work.
US news is interesting, there is very little other than the “war on terrorism” for the first 30 minutes of each news programme. Hmm more later.
Arrived safely but very tired after a long flight. About to hop in the shower and then go for dinner. BA was ok, not as good as Virgin. The hotel however us up to the same standard as before and this time I have a nice room and a view at the front of the hotel 🙂
Just to add I spent quite a while last night in near hysterics. Frumpy the Clown Book 2 by Judd Winick was the funniest thing I had read since book one. I laughed a lot.
Right I’m going to D.C. in the morning. More than likely less updates over the next few days. Time isn’t going to be really my own and not sure how often I’ll have a net connection.
The tune on the RI:SE ads on C4 is “Holes” by Mercury Rev. I want it.
“Could I have a couple of asprin or a weapon to kill some people”
I love this show so much.
ACROSS Europe last week, there was horror at the success of Jean-Marie Le Pen in the first round of the French presidential election. But in rural Cork, a history teacher was quietly celebrating.
“Of course that has to please us,” said Aine Ni Chonaill, a general election candidate for Immigration Control Platform. “Obviously, when you are strongly in favour of immigration control, as we are, you are always happy to see someone put it forward successfully on the political agenda.”
Her running mate, Ted Neville, saw the vote for Le Pen as a great expression of democracy. “We are trying to give similar voice to people who have similar concern,” said the Cork South Central candidate.
Like the homeless man on Dublin’s Moore Street last Thursday who shouted at a group of Labour canvassers: “Why don’t you get me off the streets instead of giving it all to the niggers.”
Congratulations. I can’t remember a time in my life where just for a moment I’ve not been proud to be Irish. Now I can.
Just a slice of life
Not healthy and not nice…
Anyways drinks last night didn’t happen because of family commitments. So a couple of pints this afternoon was in order. It was good to see Tom again, it had been at least two years since the last time I saw him. In fact it would have been a few weeks just before I left Dublin. A quick couple of pints and a couple of hours catching up was good.
