Sunday. West Wing tonight. It’s quite sad that I really look forward to that week after week. Dave is hooked on 24 now and I have to go track down the last 10 eps or so to keep him happy. Like most other shows it’s almost over stateside so it’s gonna get quiet.

Work front could just get really interesting a new project sounds like it could be a) a learning experience (and we like them) and b) fun (we like that too). I’m looking forward to seeing how it all works out. It’s certainly starting to seem like I’m not just doing my old job for someone else anymore but a new job and I like that a lot. Just got one project to sort out and we are away.

Some comic stuff (of course) Peter Parker: Spiderman written by Paul Jenkins. I heard some good things about this run, actually alot of good things and I picked up a couple of tpb recently and they were both good reads. Neither were what I was really expecting, not a single one was a Spiderman story, they were Peter Parker stories and all were written well. I have a few more new books to read so that’s pretty much the plan for this afternoon although I have been meaning to re-watch Eyes Wide Shut over the past few days so I might just go for that.

“I never said I wasn’t an evil fucker” heh we like that 🙂

Friday night was fun. Went to the pub for a couple of drinks with the guys after work and at some stage in the night started talking with the people sitting at the table next to us only to find out they worked in networks for the ISP in the building next door to us. So we ended up chatting with them and staying till we really were thrown out, which is unusual as they like us in that pub. Anyway it was all good and we are going to meet them again for some (more) drinks.
Of course this morning was not good, in fact neither was this afternoon. They were not good at all. Picking up some comics helped, with more details to follow on them tomorrow.

Tomorrow is reading day and catch up on stuff day. Like email and other important online areas.

Gonna read for a bit now and then sleep.

“Top Shelf is back in business.

Chris Staros is going to put out an official email at the end of the week.
But as of last night, Chris said they’d made the nut for this month.
They’re still in for a difficult period, but yesterday they were put back
in business.

And it’s the Warren Ellis Forum, BAD SIGNAL and artbomb.net that made the difference.

You people did good.”
From todays BAD SIGNAL by Warren Ellis.

WHOO HOO. Welcome to the fucking internet. Major kudos to Artbomb.net, the Warren Ellis Forum and Warren Ellis himself for saving a company and providing them with $20,000 worth of orders in less than 24 hours. Fuck me that’s impressive.

Should the consumer try to play Dion’s CD on a PC or Macintosh, the computer likely will crash…Sony denied these allegations. “The CD will probably cause a system to crash, but it will not alter anything,”

Well fuck me. That’s not a good thing at all and surely cannot be good PR for Sony.

“You hereby grant (Brilliant) the right to access and use the unused computing power and storage space on your computer/s and/or Internet access or bandwidth for the aggregation of content and use in distributed computing,” the terms of service read. “The user acknowledges and authorizes this use without the right of compensation.” Anybody who declines this provision is not able to install the Kazaa file-swapping software.
This is very bad. If you have Kazaa and have accepted it’s Terms and Conditions you have also given permission for another network to use your computer. Full story was at Wired but I can’t find the archive. It’s not a good thing at all. More here
