So on whole other notes I slept pretty well last night and seem to be all done with jetlag which is good. Friday was an interesting day. On Thursday we booked tickets online to see Spiderman at midnight so we could see it before we left. So we went along to the cinema to pick up an extra ticket for another person joining us. It turns out the cinema was ignorant of times and insisted that 12:00pm on Friday the 3rd was actually 12am on Saturday the 4th. While we did get our money back we were not impressed at all. So we went out for the night and ended up making a lot of new friends and chugging drinks as we were thrown out of the bar around 2am. We had to be at the airport at 7am for our flight. I met the others for breakfast at about 6:15 and well we were still kinda merry. We got to the airport to find out that our plane had not arrived due to bad weather but that we were booked on a UA flight about 40 minutes later. That was all fine, but after we queued for an hour ish we were told the flight was full. BA upgraded us all and placed us on their evening flight. That was fine, it was damn cool, there was around 40 people on a damn big plane with full staff for around 400. Unfortunately I was so tired I wasn’t able to take advantage of it, however it was really really really cool to have a stewardess come along and help with the blankets for the bed. Going to sleep in a bed on a plane was kinda nice 🙂

But I digress, as we had to kill 7 hours or so before the flight, BA checked us into a nice enough hotel but we decided it was the perfect time to go and see Spiderman (IMDB). So we did and it was cool. It was not what I was expecting, it took a lot of the original material and adapted it quite well into a a two hour movie. It was nice to see quite a few in-jokes that worked well for anyone familiar with the material but took nothing away from someone just seeing the movie. The action was done nicely side to side with the more human side and the character development and while it can be said the ending left the opening for a second movie, but it also could be said it just went with the comics. I have to admit I really loved the ending it worked so well. Overall it was a top movie and I certainly think it was quite influenced by the Paul Jenkins run on Peter Parker: Spiderman. I certainly enjoyed Peter discovering his powers. And despite all my doubts about casting it really worked. Make sure you stay to the very end of the credits for a nice touch that had us rolling the isles.

Its good to see that the movie broke all box-office records for it’s opening 3 days not only beating Harry Potter but trouncing it

Overall the trip to the US was good. A lot of good work stuff, some of it kinda head wrecking but starting to click together by the end of the week. Hoping that by the end of next week when it has ben put into practice it will all click nicely.

Lots more to talk about at some stage soonish. So much to catch up on lots of emails and lots of web stuff nevermind the WEF.

The Hulk trailer is out, will grab that in work on Tuesday. I have just noted that this was shown with Spiderman but we were late in so missed it 🙁

A nice option from Amazon.com, If I buy Moby’s new album from them I can stream it straight away. I think I will be doing just that.
Finally I willl leave you with just a question as food for thought. I’m not sure where I saw it but a survey question recently was.
