isn’t really ideal…and by “isn’t really” I mean its shit. I still have no idea what to do with this. Yes I will be updating my CSS soon.

Lunch

I had lunch with Iain today and we were just chatting away. We happened…ok I happened to be talking about one of the girls we met on Friday night and for some reason I commented that she was a “cute latino girl”. Iain just replies “ah I think I’ve got your type now” and I just went “huh”. In one of his better lines, the answer was simply “female with a pulse”

Further thought.

I was thinking about a post I made on Friday over the weekend. I was thinking that given the number of bugs that were fixed in such a short period that perhaps we should never have gotten to such a stage. There had been a couple of comments made and I was giving them some thought. But I realised something. It was all bollocks. If every bug that I had fixed had been my responsibilty then maybe that comment would have been fair. But given that of the bugs I fixed the vast majority were not in fact assigned to me and indeed a number were assigned to the person who made the same comment, I don’t think I feel the need to give it another moments thought.

Channel 5 showed the pilot of The Shield last night and it was not bad at all. It could turn out to be a very decent cop drama.

Through early morning fog I see…

…visions of the things to be
the pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see…

I watched M*A*S*H earlier tonight. Virgin had the special edition in their 2 for Β£20 sale so I picked it up yesterday. I had seen some of it before, years ago. I don’t remember enjoying it but then I turned off Catch 22 about give minutes into it a few years ago. So I figured what the hell. I am a fan of the tv series, it had some really top notch episodes especially the finale. So I should like and enjoy the movie right? Well the only thing I can really say is I don’t find it funny. Nothing in it made me laugh outload. A couple of moments might have gotten a grin, but nothing made me laugh. Maybe I’m missing something. I have the first two seasons of the tv show on the way on DVD and I know I will laugh at them.

The BBC are showing what looks to be an absolutely fascinating documentary all through the day today: The Abyss live. There are three submarines diving in three different locations. The dives are being shown live on the beeb throughout the day and all the time on digital. I just caught some of the last programme before the news came on and it was pretty damn cool.

The images they are bringing back are really stunning and well worth a look. I shall try and catch the last programme at 7 and then later tonight The Shield starts on channel 5. I’ve heard pretty good things about this so I’m looking forward to it.

News from around the world.

So in the news this weekend, the U.N. has come out in support of a ban on dwarf throwing. Yes you read that right. I guess they don’t have anything more important to do with their time. There are no madmen with personal grudges and nuclear weapons trying to start wars.

oh wait.

In a speech to the Senate, George W. Bushe said: ‘After all, this the guy who tried to kill my dad’ refering to Saddam Hussein. Does this not worry everyone?

Speaking of, it is a shame that the picture of G.W. holding a book upside down is a fake. It gave me a good laugh when I first saw it.

Accoring to some research in Germany; Natural Blondes ‘to die out in 200 years’ . hmm I have never actually dated a blonde girl, I tend to prefer brunettes or dark black.

β€œThere lurks, perhaps, in every human heart a desire of distinction, which inclines every man to hope, and then to believe, that nature has given himself something peculiar to himself.”
Samuel Johnson

There is a tune that I heard about from some of the guys in work that I was finally able to hear last night. It is a remix tune and it was played in the first bar we went to. Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean mixed with S Club 7’s Don’t Stop. The person who came up with such a crime against music should be shot on sight.

Quiet day today was you would expect, but expensive. I went into town not realising there was a large protest march on. That led to lots of fun getting in, but once I did the HMV and Virgin sales lightened my wallet quite a bit. A number of dvds, some music, some books and a game.

A gay night out.

I’m at that stage where I am not tired but I will fall asleep in seconds. Everything is clear and sharp and bright. I always figured this to be my eyes knowing they are tired and overcompensating. I did not sleep very well last night, in fact I slept very badly. I reckon I had at most three hours sleep. So I have pretty much been awake for the last 24 hours. Work today was fun. A comment was made that once the “thumb was taken out” a huge amount of work was covered in a very short period. Stats went from 36 open bugs to 3. Quite a drop for one person in about 36 hours. I’m fairly pleased with that, but I am somewhat considering the jibes about doing the work seriously. It was no major effort to get that all done, yes it was frantic and I had to be left alone with my music for a while but…

Anyways tonight was going to be a couple of drinks for maybe an hour after work and then an early night. You, yes you, stop laughing. It was just that…for the first hour or so. After not sleeping and not feeling great all week I was still on soft drinks. One of the guys mentioned that he had to go into town to meet some friends…3 single cute young women. Suffice it to say this got my attention. A short while later I was on my way home to shower, shave and get changed to go into town. Anyway I was the first one into town and I had not had dinner so a quick trip to Pizza Hut was on. AS I finished ordering I got a call from Nick telling me he was in town with the girls where was I. In a strangely weird thingy, he was standing directly outside the pizza hut I was in when he rang. So they popped in to say hello. They stayed for a few minutes chatting, it is worth noting the two girls were very cute and then they headed back to Nicks to drop some stuff off and the plan was to come back in asap.

So I finished my pizza and Iain rang to say he had arrived in town. Its worth noting at this stage that of the 5 guys from work heading into town 3 were gay and had set the plans for the night. So met Iain in Leicester Square and headed to a very rainbowy pub named West Central at the back of Chinatown which I pass on a regular basis but had never been in. So we meet up with a couple of others there and moved on to Barcode, where Scally wanted to meet some friends. So we had a couple of drinks in there. There was a funny moment when I was at the bar getting some drinks in and another one of the gay guys from work walked into the pub. I don’t think he was expecting to see me there πŸ˜‰

So anyways we left there around 11:30 to meet Nick and the girls outside. At this stage it became apparent that as suspected there were in fact no girls going out with us tonight. Ah well, we continued as planned to G-A-Y for “Camp Attack” night. Handy having flyers to get in for free and skip the queue. So we stroll in and get some drinks and a table.

So looking out at the dance floor, it was as expected pretty much full of half-naked guys dancing away. However slap in the middle of the dancefloor was one very cute girl. Not only that I was pretty sure I knew her. She was with a guy there and well I was going with the he was gay and they were not together and if it was who I thought it was, I kinda liked her already. So cunning plan time…took a poll at the table as to whether the guys thought he was gay….started with Iain who simply stood up and went off to find out. Now of course I should have seen this coming, Iain goes straight for the girl. I’m not quite cringing under the table…well actually I am. If it was who I thought it was, that would have been a bad thing. But as it turns out it was not. Her name was Rachel and she was straight and single. All good. This of course would turn out to be no use in the longrun cause I sat there all night not doing anything about it.

Anyways I head off to the bar to get some drinks in and the barmaid who serves me has the prettiest smile I have seen in a while, it was really nice. It was really nice πŸ™‚

So that was pretty much that I sat for the night chatting or just hanging out really, looking for talent on the dancefloor and spotting it
every now and again. Thanks to Scally, Sparky, Nick and Iain for the good company and special thanks to Nick for at least introducing the cute girls. He will be pressured to bring them out more often πŸ˜‰

And some lyrics to end the night (fuck it is almost dawn)

Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone
I hear you call my name
And it feels like home

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

I hear your voice, it’s like an angel sighing
I have no choice, I hear your voice
Feels like flying
I close my eyes, Oh God I think I’m falling
Out of the sky, I close my eyes
Heaven help me

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

Like a child you whisper softly to me
You’re in control just like a child
Now I’m dancing
It’s like a dream, no end and no beginning
You’re here with me, it’s like a dream
Let the choir sing

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

Just like a prayer, your voice can take me there
Just like a muse to me, you are a mystery
Just like a dream, you are not what you seem
Just like a prayer, no choice your voice can take me there

Just like a prayer, I’ll take you there
It’s like a dream to me

Like a Prayer
Madonna
