A gay night out.

I’m at that stage where I am not tired but I will fall asleep in seconds. Everything is clear and sharp and bright. I always figured this to be my eyes knowing they are tired and overcompensating. I did not sleep very well last night, in fact I slept very badly. I reckon I had at most three hours sleep. So I have pretty much been awake for the last 24 hours. Work today was fun. A comment was made that once the “thumb was taken out” a huge amount of work was covered in a very short period. Stats went from 36 open bugs to 3. Quite a drop for one person in about 36 hours. I’m fairly pleased with that, but I am somewhat considering the jibes about doing the work seriously. It was no major effort to get that all done, yes it was frantic and I had to be left alone with my music for a while but…

Anyways tonight was going to be a couple of drinks for maybe an hour after work and then an early night. You, yes you, stop laughing. It was just that…for the first hour or so. After not sleeping and not feeling great all week I was still on soft drinks. One of the guys mentioned that he had to go into town to meet some friends…3 single cute young women. Suffice it to say this got my attention. A short while later I was on my way home to shower, shave and get changed to go into town. Anyway I was the first one into town and I had not had dinner so a quick trip to Pizza Hut was on. AS I finished ordering I got a call from Nick telling me he was in town with the girls where was I. In a strangely weird thingy, he was standing directly outside the pizza hut I was in when he rang. So they popped in to say hello. They stayed for a few minutes chatting, it is worth noting the two girls were very cute and then they headed back to Nicks to drop some stuff off and the plan was to come back in asap.

So I finished my pizza and Iain rang to say he had arrived in town. Its worth noting at this stage that of the 5 guys from work heading into town 3 were gay and had set the plans for the night. So met Iain in Leicester Square and headed to a very rainbowy pub named West Central at the back of Chinatown which I pass on a regular basis but had never been in. So we meet up with a couple of others there and moved on to Barcode, where Scally wanted to meet some friends. So we had a couple of drinks in there. There was a funny moment when I was at the bar getting some drinks in and another one of the gay guys from work walked into the pub. I don’t think he was expecting to see me there 😉

So anyways we left there around 11:30 to meet Nick and the girls outside. At this stage it became apparent that as suspected there were in fact no girls going out with us tonight. Ah well, we continued as planned to G-A-Y for “Camp Attack” night. Handy having flyers to get in for free and skip the queue. So we stroll in and get some drinks and a table.

So looking out at the dance floor, it was as expected pretty much full of half-naked guys dancing away. However slap in the middle of the dancefloor was one very cute girl. Not only that I was pretty sure I knew her. She was with a guy there and well I was going with the he was gay and they were not together and if it was who I thought it was, I kinda liked her already. So cunning plan time…took a poll at the table as to whether the guys thought he was gay….started with Iain who simply stood up and went off to find out. Now of course I should have seen this coming, Iain goes straight for the girl. I’m not quite cringing under the table…well actually I am. If it was who I thought it was, that would have been a bad thing. But as it turns out it was not. Her name was Rachel and she was straight and single. All good. This of course would turn out to be no use in the longrun cause I sat there all night not doing anything about it.

Anyways I head off to the bar to get some drinks in and the barmaid who serves me has the prettiest smile I have seen in a while, it was really nice. It was really nice 🙂

So that was pretty much that I sat for the night chatting or just hanging out really, looking for talent on the dancefloor and spotting it
every now and again. Thanks to Scally, Sparky, Nick and Iain for the good company and special thanks to Nick for at least introducing the cute girls. He will be pressured to bring them out more often 😉

And some lyrics to end the night (fuck it is almost dawn)

Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone
I hear you call my name
And it feels like home

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

I hear your voice, it’s like an angel sighing
I have no choice, I hear your voice
Feels like flying
I close my eyes, Oh God I think I’m falling
Out of the sky, I close my eyes
Heaven help me

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

Like a child you whisper softly to me
You’re in control just like a child
Now I’m dancing
It’s like a dream, no end and no beginning
You’re here with me, it’s like a dream
Let the choir sing

When you call my name it’s like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there

Just like a prayer, your voice can take me there
Just like a muse to me, you are a mystery
Just like a dream, you are not what you seem
Just like a prayer, no choice your voice can take me there

Just like a prayer, I’ll take you there
It’s like a dream to me

Like a Prayer
