“Why oh why can’t I bring a pony into work?”
It has amused me.

Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away,
Wild, wild horses, couldn’t drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain,
Now you’ve decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away,
Wild, wild horses, couldn’t drag me away
I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie,
I have my freedom but I don’t have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried,
Let’s do some living after we die
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away,
Wild, wild horses, we’ll ride them some day
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away,
Wild, wild horses, we’ll ride them some day
Wild Horses
The Rolling Stones
I’ve just spent the past couple of hours watching Pleasantville. I went to rent this a couple of weeks ago but Blockbuster had lost their only copy. It was on sale in Virgin as part of the 2 for 20 so I figured I would take the chance and pick it up. I am very glad that I did. Hugely enjoyable with an excellent ensemble cast. Tobey Maguire is easily one of the finest actors of his generation and is going to go a long way in the years to come. William H. Macy is one of my favourite actors and Maguire stood toe to toe and indeed may have out done him. This was J.T. Walsh’s second last movie before his death and it is also one of his best.
Considering how the movie deals with colour being introduced into a black and white environment and the fact that at the time it was made it had the most digital effects for a movie, its done so very well. The people and the items blend together very smoothly and it was near impossible to tell on most occasions. Nice little story too, it comes a little close to turning a sweet little film into a full on racism analogy but pulls away just in time. More than worth a look.
Yes I meant to update about this a while ago but I wasn’t sure what to do then and I’m not sure now. Both of the courses which I wanted to do and applied for are full I applied way too late in the year. So I’m kinda lost. I can start a foundation degree in pretty much anything I want starting in January but I don’t think I really want to do that. It would mean four years study there and then another 2 years to up it to a proper degree. Or I can wait a year and apply for the courses I want in time and hope I get one of them.
I just don’t know.
*sigh* I hate this feeling. I can’t sit around the house much longer. Having spent the weekend at home I am now bored. I feel like going out for a walk and picking up something to watch tonight. I however always feel guilty when I do something like that. I didn’t feel up to going to work but I’m able to go out and do stuff…ok not much stuff but still the point stands.
I can’t find two of my Feist books, I’m reading the second book in the Krondor series The Assassins and I don’t seem to have the third and final book in the series. Looking at the cover on Amazon I am pretty sure I have it…somewhere. It could be still in Dublin. But reading the reviews also, I am not sure I have actually read it. I know that if I go and pick it up, I’ll end up finding it tonight.
Trillian Pro is not rocking my world as I hoped it would, it does not appear to be all that much more than a new skin and the ability to use plugins. I’m still using Mozilla 1.2a alot but I’m find it a little slow and clunky at times. IE is a much smoother expierence.
…include Allison Janney, John Spencer, Stockard Channing and The West Wing for best show. We like that, we also note and like that 24’s pilot episode was rewarded for best writing 🙂
I’m feeling pretty bad this morning so in local news headlines: Team decimated by plague. Mystery illness spreads amongst the population…or in other words I’m not the only one out with a case of flu.

In a word cha ching. This will be mine oh yes.
I don’t feel very well right now. I don’t know what it is. I’m hoping its just a 48 hour hangover and I’m not coming down with anything but seen as this just really kicked in a couple of hours ago I’m not so sure.
I don’t feel tired at all and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to sleep tonight and you know how much thats gonna help.
I checked my work mail earlier. 17 of 40 new messsages were scam emails asking for my passwords. Thats just fucking shit. I really really wish they would all just fuck right off.
The Skulls; again another movie I borrowed from Iain. Just spent the last couple of hours watching it and it was surprisingly good. For a teen thriller it had a pretty decent plot and moved along really well. An absolutely outstanding supporting cast including William ‘CSI‘ Petersen, Steve ‘The Practice‘ Harris, Nigel ‘Forver Knight Bennett and Christopher ‘Ive been in everything’ McDonald. A good movie, worth a look if you get the chance.
I really really have to appreciate my friends more.
