I’ve been bad. I just went shopping. I wanted to pick up the 2 cd releases of JJ72’s Formulae and I did. U2 of course have a new single out today, so again 2 cds and a dvd single. Seen as I was at it I’ve been meaning to pick up Forty Licks, the best of The Rolling Stones and so I did. Alongside that seen as I have heard so many good things about the second season of The Office, I picked up the first season on dvd. Then I noticed that Tower had Citizen Kane on sale for a tenner. Well I just had to have it.
As I type this out, I am not sitting on my bed in my flat in London. I am actually standing in a field in county Meath in Ireland. The date is August 25th 2001 and its about this time. U2 are not pumping out Where the Streets have No Name live from Boston form my aforementioned laptop speakers. They are playing on stage in front of me and fuck me was it awesome. Hearing a track of theirs live every now and again brings me back to that day and I just sit there lost in the memory. That day ranks as one of the best in my life.
