I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. I really don’t. Of course I will be going, I don’t have all that much of a choice. I am getting to dedicate all my time to a new project now and I can look forward to that.

uh huh.

Or I can just look forward to getting some new music at lunch time. Place your bets. Other than that I just don’t know. I started this post because I had an urge to talk about something, nothing in particular, just talk. Now that I have gotten into it, I find the urge has left. I’m going to bed, I still have to decide whether to bring a couple of cds into work in the morning or not. I suspect the latter.

So its gale force weather outside. I usually keep a small window open. The wind was so loud this morning it woke me and I had to close the window. Of course seen as I was up late last night talking with a friend I slept late today.

I did get greeted by the following text message when I turned my phone on first thing this morning.
“6’2 single babe who likes Waxys. Coming out tonight?”

More women = more trouble, thats just what I need….so um yeah, I’m meeting them there at around 7ish.

*sigh*

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a good day musically at least, and if this does not show you have varied my taste is, I don’t know what will.

So thats gonna knock about £50 out of my wallet tomorrow.

Sometimes I really really like Patrick. Sent him a text a few minutes ago telling him I would be there by 7 and that Nick was in town with his sister so they would swing by aswell. I added that he shouldn’t ask because I didn’t know.

He just replied:
‘Before I ask what? By the way is she cute and & single? :)’

I laughed, there are times he comes through with a sense of humour.

Blogger appears to have gone crazy with the time stamps. It never was really good at them and with the clock haivng changed a couple of hours ago it seems alot worse. The last post was in fact made at 02:08 and this one was made at 02:25

World Events

So I’ve been a little wrapped up in myself lately and I’ve not talked all that much about stuff going on around the world so catch up time.

Russia: Chechen Hostage situation.
Ok never let it be said I don’t have interesting views. A lot of respect is due to the ‘terrorists’, I would like to note the words ‘freedom fighters’ could also be used here AND I would like to note that they identified themselves as part of the Chechen Army. Anyway they took over 700 people hostage in a theatre in Moscow. It took around 50 people all armed and carrying explosives.

I have to respect people like that, and yes that includes some very unpopular people in the world these days. They are fighting for a cause against an army they just cannot beat. They have to do something different. I admire people who are dedicated to a cause, you have to give them that much.

However I also have to admire the Russian’s final reply. It seems to have been the only thing they could have done. They sent in the troops. Using gas to knock everyone out in the theatre seems to have been a master stroke. Using poisonous gas which they knew would kill some of the hostages too took guts. Ordering the troops to kill every hostage taker including the ones unconscious was a decision to be respected. I balked at the thought for a moment even more so when I saw pictures of the female hostage takers who had been executed while obviously unconscious. However when the picture fully loaded and you could see explosives strapped around their waists, well that changes things.

“We could not save everyone. Please forgive us.”

USA: Sniper
Well I don’t know what to say. I really don’t know what to say. It was kinda like a comic plot. I don’t really have to respect anyone who decides to go and out kill like that for no reason. I can say and I know this is going to sound quite bad, but I imagine it was quite a kick. Taunting the police and giving them information was kinda stupid. Given that they did not appear to have any information and seemed unable to do anything to prevent more killings….

Anyway I am glad it is over. I have a lot of friends in that area and I know at least one person who this affected on a more personal level so it is good that it is over. I do have to wonder how long till a copycat appears.

UK: Firefighters strike
I am fully in support of this. I don’t care that they want a 40% pay increase. The government pay fire-fighters around £21,000 pounds per year. That is a complete disgrace. They strike and they have my support. They deserve the money and then some.

and finally
on a much more lighter note; dog shoots man.

History

Everyone has a past, a life story. There are of course high points and low points.

There are things that I will never forget and things I wish I could forget.

These are not always mutually exclusive.

That Is All.

Comics – Check. Batman #608 was just as enjoyable as expected, Captain Marvel #2 was even more so. Y: The last Man #4 is starting to sour a little and Spiderman BlackCat #3 was just bad. Unfortunatly I was not all that impressed by the 7th Transmet collection. It was not any of the team at their best.

Buffy 705 was not bad at all. I’m not a big Anya fan, I never has been but this was a pretty good episode all round. Alyson Hannigan is cute as ever and it was good to get to see her do some work again. The whole thing with Spike is starting to work too. Not on par with Angel but it keeps trying.

I’m still feeling a little unwell. I was so very hungover this morning. Nearly got myself run over as soon as I stepped off the bus earlier today and I felt woozy at a few other times.

So plans for today:

– Hit the comic shop. Collect a couple of weeks worth of stuff and a new Transmet trade. I am also looking forward to Batman #608 a lot. The 12 issue ‘Hush’ by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee kicks off.

– Go see something (xXx?) in the cinema. I was suppose to be going to see 28 Days Later with Iain tonight till we found out it does not actually open till next week.

– Watch Buffy 705.

– Watch The Office Season One which I picked up on DVD during the week.

– Attempt to forget last night ever happened.

– Have a decent dinner that does not consist of McDonalds or some pub food. I can’t remember the last time I had a really good meal. Had some steak on Thursday for lunch for a going away do, but it was not all that great.

The unsend option is a very underrated tool. I was, I am glad to report restrained enough so I did not have to use it.

I should have gone to JJ72 again last night. Listening to the album again today has reminded me of how much I did actually enjoy the gig.

This Friendgreetings is really shit. Although I would not ever notice an EULA stating I was giving permission for all my contacts to be sent an email. Motherfuckers.

Through the loss, the pain Oh the life………

I’m not bitter really but none of my team or indeed anyone involved in the last 9 months work was free for some celebratory drinks after work. I was all on my own in that sense.

We fucking GMd my client. It is a damn good feeling and the very thought of it has put a smile on my face throughout the night. It is a really good feeling and I’m quite happy…

I am also an idiot. Went out for some beers with Iain and Nick. There was a leaving do on in one of the pubs but I didn’t really feel like going…nor did Nick. So we hit the Albion as usual. Iain had a quick drink with us and then moved to the leaving do. Well, the plan was to stay where we were for the night…but I got a text from Iain casually mentioning that someone in particular was in the other pub.

Well, we quickly finished our drinks and then moved on. Well, arrived in the other pub and discovered that a couple of what had been thought to be closely guarded secrets were in fact no such thing. That kinda set the tone for the night and it went onwards from there.

I really don’t think I should say anything else. I have already done enough of that tonight and I feel pretty stupid as it is. You should read really stupid instead of pretty stupid.

I need a new sense of humour, mine is too deprecating, self and otherwise. While I might really appreciate it, most people don’t and it is often more hassle than it is worth. I HATE having to explain sarcasm.

Blogger was hacked earlier today. It all seems to be fine now, but passwords have been changed of course, just in case.

Richard Harris is dead 🙁
