Mad World is haunting me. I must have listened to it 15 times already today and its still haunting me.
Last night was allright, hit the local as it was one of the girls birthdays. Hadn’t planned on going out, but had to show up for a while. Started off well and just drinking coke but that didn’t last long. It was strange to see some of the old bar staff back there after what must be a year and somewhat scary to realise I know like the past 3 years worth of staff there. Got home reasonably early and was in bed just after 12.
Still got three episodes of Buffy to watch, that’s the plan for tonight.
Working in Flash at the moment and it is hurting my head. I can’t even figure out how to correctly add a check-box to a page nevermind assign it actions to edit the registry, but I shall slog on.
The domain name servers have been changed, they should go through around midnight tonight and then tomorrow I should be able to set up the new site and upload all my photos. I must try and remember to bring in the last 100 or so to get them into albums then sort and publish them. Oh and burn them to cd.
Had an interesting start to my day today. There is a new rule…well not really a new rule, but an old rule going to be enforced for a while at least of being in the office at 9:30. Well, this morning was not bad, I managed 9:32. I think that was ok. Turned my computer on, signed onto AIM and did a send and receive. Pretty much the standard first thing in the morning things. I wasn’t expecting an email to myself and my sister from my Dad telling us my little sister had just spent the past 36 hours in hospital. Nothing all that serious, a bad case of the flu complicated by an existing medical condition, but serious enough to be taken in and bypassing casualty. Yeah welcome to work Dave. Kinda pissed off that this happened on Sunday night and I only found out by email this morning but I guess we are all use to it at this stage. One quick call later and everything seems to be fine.
I’m working my way through the block of crime novels I had. Just finished Sleepyhead by Mark Billingham. It wasn’t bad, the main character came across as likeable and there wasn’t a bad little idea behind it, but it just fell short a little. I’ll probably pick up the next book by him for the two reasons just mentioned, but I won’t be in any rush. I’m about three quarters of the way through Dead Sleep by Greg Iles, which I must say I am enjoying a lot more. Again quite a nice idea behind it, or at least a new take on an older idea and being developed pretty well. The one thing I have found and I keep doing this everytime I pick the book up to start reading again. I go to the front 100 pages or so. It doesn’t feel like I’ve read 300 pages of it, I’m still waiting for the story to kick off. But that is, in this case, not a complaint. I am enjoying it. So far I have to say for cheap crime novels which I picked up in sales or bogof, I’m not disapointed.
