According to Apple’s Keynote speech earlier in the week there are about 2.2 millions OSX users. First impressions show that over 300,000 people downloaded Safari on Tuesday alone. Going with very basic calculations that gives us a magic number of 13.6%.
So using those rough figures and a very bit of basic math, we can’t conlude anything for sure. However we can have a rough guess that in less, and this bears repeating in less than 24 hours 13 hours (11am – 12pm) , Apple sucessfully reached over 13% of their intended audience.
I am impressed by that. I realise that Mac users tend to be more umm enthusiastic but that is an impressive couple of numbers but together like that.
I for one find that really fucking impressive.
UPDATE: A press release from Apple Friday afternoon clocked the total number of downloads at 500,000. That brings our number to just under 25% of the user base. For a fucking beta. Not bad, not bad at all.
