Ananova: Angry Russians offered free calls to White House

A Russian telecoms company is offering free phone calls to the White House for anyone who wants to rant at George Bush. Excom in the west Russian city of Yekaterinburg said almost 1,000 people have taken advantage of the offer. Calls have ranged from two to 20 minutes and the tempers of some people have boiled over. Phone operator Irina Natakhina said: “Mostly men call almost every 10 minutes and demand to be put through to the White House. When they have to wait they even begin swearing at me.” Excom general director Konstantin Ivanov found the number on the internet and said the offer will continue indefinitely.

So I finally get a chance to talk to someone. I was somewhat caught off guard as I wasn’t expecting her to walk up behind me at that very moment. Anyway we chatted for a moment and somewhat luckily I had either tabbed out of AOL or had been skiving off and didn’t have it open as I noticed a couple of people (naming no names Nicholas and Patrick) pointing and grinning and typing furiously. That kinda killed off the conversation but hopefully as the im’s were hidden it didn’t cause too much damage but it most certainly was not helpful. Thanks lads.

So it would appear that in exactly one hour from now (I’m writing this at 00:00), there is nothing to stop the US from going to war. The ‘ultimatum’ given by ‘President’ Bush expires and he seemingly intends to invade a sovereign country to replace it’s leader. It’s a sad day for the world when the strongest country in the world decides that for that reason alone it is best suited to policing the world and it will just do whatever the fuck it likes. I have to wonder how long it will take to restore the reputation of the US in the international community. I can only hope that George W Bush is never given a second term, that can only be a good start to making things better.

And you know what else? Should anything happen now in America or England or many other places, they ain’t terrorist attacks. They are legitimate targets. If a wmd is set off in London for example then it is simply part of war and the world has to live with that. Obviously a number of people will have to live without it but all those governments have made themselves and their countries legitimate targets. I cannot see any reason at all for Iraq not to use any weapons it has and use them to the best effect. The ‘coalition of the willing’ is going in there to depose a government, so one way or another it’s going down. Why not go down fighting as best you can?

Fuckers. This isn’t what the people want, more than anything else the people have shown they don’t want this. I hate the fact that in this day and age a single person can cause such fucking bollocks. That’s all this is. one man’s crusade to finish something his father started or simple revenge. It almost makes me sick to hear any news reports quoting or reporting that Iraq and Al Queda are linked, it’s all just a load of bollocks.

So it would appear that war is just about to break out without the backing of the UN. I’m a little all over the place to have been keeping up on it, but it appears that the US and UK have just decided to go it alone and alienate the rest of the world. I wonder what the UN will do. I hope that in the vote in the UK parliment within the next hour or so that the government is defeated on the motion.

Heading out for a while now, I have to buy more chipsticks 🙂

Gah, there are times I hate the interwebnet, I just lost a post.

This afternoon I went to Croke Park to watch the All Ireland Club Championships in Hurley and Gaelic football. Birr and Nemo Rangers took the titles respectively. The hurley wasn’t great but the football was a good match.

This evening I went into the Porterhouse to have a pint. Being St. Patricks Day, I had to go somewhere and it seemed like a good choice. It was indeed, I met a nice cute Irish girl.

Walking on a beach with only moonlight to guide you is a wonderful experience. It can be wonderful on it’s own, but it is better shared.

Um, other than that, I have just been wandering around Dublin and not doing much. I had a pretty good morning this morning. The interwebnet helped to greatly improve it. It shall hopefully do the same tomorrow morning.

I’ve been chatting with a friend and commenting on another friends blog. It would appear they need even more help. *sigh* Well, I guess it’s the same as everything else, it is plainly obvious to everyone, but never obvious when your involved. I guess I’m one to talk but *shrug* And to take a trick from someone else’s book, full credit really should be given.

Today I went for a walk along the beach, then I had dinner in Bewleys and followed that with a pint in Messrs. Maguires.

Man I miss this place.

I have just got tickets to see Radiohead two nights running in Dublin in the middle of May. Tickets for two nights and flights to Dublin have cost me £110 pounds. I haven’t got it, I can’t afford it but as usual I’ve booked it anyway.

There is something really tribal about drums.

So I have just been down the pub with my dad. I think the ramifications of the coversation will be with me for a long long time.

Right, I am in Dublin and all is good. No airport problems, everything was ontime and all was good.

Some quick stuff:
– my blog entries are not half as subtle as I sometimes think.
– work just got interesting as all fuck and I am wondering how the next few weeks will play out.
– I love being right.
– she did have a really nice smile and she was really nice. However I have, as you well know my eye on someone else.
– I love this city.
– I miss broadband, dialup sucks.

Sleep now. I’m really tired, work has been taking too much over the past few days and I intend to enjoy this break.
