My weekend may be shot to hell. There is a possibility I may have to work tomorrow. I don’t think I will, but it is possible.
There is no “i” in “team”, there may in fact be a “we”. I think I like that alot.
– Gah, need sleep. Not the first thing on the list of needs but right now the easiest to achieve That is a good thing.
– I wish I knew where I stood. Right now, I don’t, in so many areas.
– I have a very strong suspicion that one of my friends is being a prick. I may even have some proof of this over the weekend.
– Stop fucking spamming me, I hate people who think lots of joke emails to my work address is a good thing.
– Tequila girl, you missed a lot. Of all the time to pick, that was a bad one.
– I think I was wrong about what I thought I was wrong about being wrong about. I don’t know what I think about that.
– Roll on the weekend. I shall be sleeping so very late in the morning.
Goodnight all.
The heart is a bloom
Yesterday was a beautiful day. I spent lunch time in the park playing chess with Dave. It was a good lunch. Around 5:30 there was a general rustling on the floor, the day was too nice to just go home and there was a collective im’ing session with offers of/requests for some beer. So we trooped off to Queen’s Head beer garden and spent a few hours there sitting outside in the sun drinking some beer.
It was good fun, and the same is planned again for tonight. As the weekend starts today and the day is just as beautiful as yesterday we have a good showing of people heading out to chill and have a laugh. I am looking forward to it a lot.
Then tomorrow it’s suppose to be, you’ve guessed it; a beautiful day. I intend to go to the shops, buy some batteries and then spend a large part of the day out in the sunshine reading my book. This is shaping up to be quite a wonderful little weekend.
I want to hit a couple of places around london aswell, do some walking and see some sites. I’ve only got plans for Saturday night so far, a group of us are going to meet up and hit the Porterhouse or somewhere like that in Covent Garden where we can sit outside in the sun and chill.
I know I’ve said it a couple of times above, but as I sit here and type this I’m thinking that I’m really looking forward to the weekend.
“The March 2, 1998 issue of Time ran a piece by George Bush and Brent Scowcroft titled, “Why We Didn’t Remove Saddam.” Here’s an excerpt from the article:
We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under those circumstances, furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-cold war world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.’s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different — and perhaps barren — outcome.
“Recently, the piece became unavailable on Time’s archive page. No explanation why. But Bruce Koball scanned the microfilm from his library’s archives and posted a jpg of the article on his site. Why did Time take it off? (I’m calling to find out.)”

oh star, shoulder
I turned down a job in Dulles about a year ago. It was something that sounded like so much fun but for a couple of main reasons I wasn’t able to go with it and indeed I didn’t really want it…much.
I have to wonder now what would be different had I taken it and moved to Dulles. I know I’d have one friend nagging me a lot less about not seeing her in years. She’d probably be hiding in the corner when I knocked on her door by now.
I wonder what else would be different. Something’s I am sure would be better, something’s I am sure would be worse. I wonder what I would do if the opportunity came up again. I am fairly confident I have a good chance at making the opportunity happen if I want to.
Just so you know, that’s all apropos of nothing.
Going to sign off and watch Buffy now, back in a bit.
So now what?
Fuck.
Now that’s what I call good drama. There really is nothing better on TV these days.

Train worked out well and I’m going to aim for the same in the morning. Walked home this evening, it was a beautiful day and I had my discman and it worked out pretty well. Heat wave due for the long weekend, I’m wondering about hiring a bike (or perhaps even just going and buying one).
Work is as ever fun, Friday night coming back to haunt me a little bit and of course our friends and colleagues in other places being as helpful as ever.
Blogshares is going really well. I’ve made quite a bit today on some nice trades and hopefully some more tomorrow. The week also started really well in chess with Dave taking a beating; three games to nil.
Buffy should be just finished downloading in a few moments, episode 18 called Wild Girls. This is the return of Faith. Bring it on 🙂 That shall be tomorrow night’s after work viewing I think.
Oh yes, new “features” are a fucking pain and I look forward to giving some feedback.
Confirmed with Ready Hosting that they do not support all of the requirements for Moveable Type. So that is that scrapped for sure. I guess it’s going to continue to be Blogger all the way. That or change hosts again…which I’m really not all that thrilled about doing. I shall just have to bear it in mind for the future I guess.
I requested a new monitor in work today. I know my eyes are ok, I had a check-up pretty recently but every day they hurt and I’m getting headaches. Dave has been on about the refresh rate on my screen so perhaps that is in fact the cause. I’ve asked for something better and we shall see how it goes.
Gotta go sleep now.
Revealed: Russia spied on Blair for Saddam
If this turns out to be anything…it could be big.
Despite leaving 10 minutes later than I had intended, I made the train this morning…only just. It’s a much better way of getting into work and if I can get into the habit of getting up and walking to the station I should in theory start being in work on time a lot more.
The walk isn’t too bad, but I didn’t really allow enough time for it this morning, I had to rush and the train was standing at the platform when I did make it. I shall try and actually leave on time in the morning.
In other news, its Monday and I’m in work. This is not such a good thing. However this is a long weekend. Friday and next Monday are days off and this is a good thing. I don’t have anything planned, I think my flatmate has some family staying for a couple of nights but not sure. Scrap that, I have just checked and starting Friday we are having some painting done. Shit. If only there was a chance of going away at such short notice.
