So I came across the rest of my diaries in tonight’s cleaning. After a little (ok more than a little) cringing, I found that on this day in:
2002
I had the day off work. It was raining heavily outside and I spent a lot of the day playing Rogue Leader on my Gamecube.
1998
I was in college for the day and I stayed on afterwards with some friends playing snooker in the canteen. I stopped off a friends house on the way home to collect some videos.
1997
I rewatched King Lear and Wuthering Heights as my first Leaving Cert (end of secondary school) was the following day and it was of course English. I was also very not ready for these exams and I knew it.
1996
I spent the day at a friends house where we played Mortal Kombat on his Super Nintendo for the day.
1995
I went to the village bookshop where I picked up a number of books, nothing really of note I would appear. I cut the grass that afternoon and I was looking forward to Star Trek: Voyager starting. (Ah the naivety of youth)
1994
I was feeling much better after the sea sickness and was on a coach from the port to Paris city centre.
Flicking through randomly brought a couple of entries about a girl I had such a crush on. One year had an entry to actaully ask her out as my fourth new year’s resolutuon for that first of January and then later it had a note about an evening we were both at a con in London with a gang of friends. I’ve not seen her or spoken to her in at least 4 years now. I did hear some news about her fairly recently and I’m really glad to hear she is doing well and happy, of course I never did ask her out.

I feel bad. I knew it was around now and it’s been at the back of my mind for a couple of weeks but I’ve not really been thinking about it and rereading my blog entry for last year stunned it back home.
Gah. It feels like so much more than two years.
