My job is, in a word, a joke.

Channel 4 appear to have started showing Smallville in double bills on Sundays. This means the Christopher Reeve episode which I was looking forward to watching this coming weekend was in fact shown on sunday. Fuckers.
CSI. A couple of weeks ago I said the show was loosing a little and it needed to use it’s characters more. Someone must have been listening. That was a damn fine episode.
So I’m pretty tired and not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. On the good news front the cheese sandwiches I had for dinner tonight were really nice. Got some reading to do tonight inbetween some TV watching and then some sleep.
Some other stuff.
Michael Stipe walked onto stage and with the words “Hi, we are R.E.M. and this is what we do” they were off. Fuckin’ A.
Sunday morning was good. There wasn’t much on that afternoon I wanted to see except Damien Rice on the other stage around 3. So we went for some beers and a few smokes. By 3 o’clock I was completly out of it and in danger of loosing it. So I decided I would catch up on a little sleep for a couple of hours. I managed to either sleep through or not set my alarm. This lead to moments of panic when I woke up really late thinking I had missed Sigur Ros. I made it with about 10 minutes to spare. Even more annoyed ay missing Damien Rice now as I’ve heard a lot of good things about his set. The band after him didn’t have their equipment arrive in time and so he played on for much longer and did by all reports an excellent cover of Creep.
And by all accounts Moby’s set on Sunday night was amazing with a cover of Creep to boot aswell. From everything I’ve read I should have not bothered with Doves and gone around for him. Ah well.
Right Saturday afternoon and it is glorious. The sun is shining and it’s lovely and warm. One of the lads had a friend who saw Jimmy Cliff earlier in the week and said go and see him. So I did and wow was he good. I was amazed at how many of his songs I knew. A major highlight for the weekend.
Following him were The Polyphonic Spree. This wasn’t all that good actually. Their songs work well as they are on the album, changing them around that much for a live show didn’t really work. Some of it was good, but the version of Soldier Girl they did was terrible and I was disapointed. Not on the list of bands to see live again.
