Right while I don’t feel like actually going through lot of things I do have some urge to type so some points to start with and I’ll see what if anything develops from there.

– Looking back, well not even looking back, the entire of the past couple of years blogging was worth it for that one recent post which still reverberates with me. That would be this this one…ok no seriously it would be this one. I don’t know if I’ll ever have another one like that but that would be the aim at the least. Really does bring the tag line of “this really is my therapy” into play.

– I didn’t take a single photo, the only one I wanted never turned out. Nothing else struck me as something I wanted to take a photo of.

– Picked up a live album by The Frames which is excellent. Their back catalogue must be looked into. Really fucking excellent.

– Picked up a few other odd bits and pieces. I read and commented on Alice Siebold’s The Lovely Bones fairly recently. I spotted Lucky, her first book on the shelf in the airport on the way out of Dublin and I picked it up. It’s her memoirs, I guess is the word, of her rape when she was in school and the aftermath of that. She’s got a real way with words and it’s some of the easiest stuff to actually read and given the nature of the book that’s saying something.

– I’m listening to the Best of Bowie and sitting here thinking that I don’t actually like David Bowie. Sure his duet with Queen is one of my favourite tunes but I don’t actually like most of his own stuff. I really like some of the late 90’s dancey tunes (Spaceboy, Little Wonder) but given the choice of taking or leaving the rest…I’ll leave them. At this point I would admit to liking the music from Labyrinth but I already bear too many geeky burdens.

– I picked up Gerry Adams first autobiography and I’m looking forward to getting into that. Also picked up some Iain and Iain M Banks novels cheap in the clearing house for Chapters.

– My sister lent me about 4 or 5 more Miyazaki movies and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to watch them at some stage soonish. The weekend I think.

– Some things in the world never change. This can be a good thing and/or a bad thing.

– I’m not the only one who does the odd nostalgia trip, it was interesting living one with someone for a while. More on that later for certain.

– I found out that the couple in question for the first non family wedding I ever went to called it a day a while ago. I really don’t know what to say other than that. It was a strange.

– I don’t know. Love is a strange thing. I can just hear the “no shit” to that one. As always Dublin brings back lots of memories some good some bad. This time was a little different in that I was sitting down and talking about some of the good times and the bad times and touching a little on who was (and indeed still is) important to us. Hmm love was so the wrong word to use there, lust maybe or just go with crushed. More on that one later too.

Endless Nights has made me want to go and reread all of Sandman…it must be done. I also want to reread all of Starman and am looking forward to the next (final?) trade lots.

– Work in the morning after most of a week off should be interesting. I have a team meeting at 10am which should catch me up on what’s going on and of course I’ll be bringing crisps for everyone and that should make me popular.

– I guess that is that for now, I want to read and sleep.

Right I’m back in London after some pretty decent travelling. Updates to follow at some stage. Now I have to go and watch the new trailer for The Matrix: Revolutions

Man, even the TV is better here. 16 channels and actually some good stuff too.

Yesterday I went into town for a while and just wandered around. It was all good. Had lunch in Bewleys which was of course lovely and did a little shopping. Picked up Empire 1-3 which I had missed out on in London and enjoyed them. Also read the end of Hush which wasn’t bad but nothing special either.

The B sides for both cd of the Frantic single from Metallica contain live stuff from them at Download earlier in the year. It was good to sit there listening to it knowing that I was there and shouting in the crowd aswell.

Turns out the work stuff may actually be alright, was talking to someone late last night and it sounded good. I’ll just get a call on Monday morning so someone can use my access rights to turn it on…I love planning ahead.

Went out for dinner last night which wasn’t great. A bad piece of steak and not great service killed it for me but went for a couple of pints and a catchup with dad down the pub afterwards which was good.

Didn’t really get up to much today, was suppose to go and see one of my grandmothers but had to reschedule it for another time, wasn’t really feeling up to it.

By the way, the keyboard I’m using has a dodgy ‘m’ key and a dodgy ‘w’ key, so if you see anything stranger than my usual misspellings, that could be it.

Time to sleep I think, and tomorrow some local wanderings.

Right, I am safely in Dublin. When I said no internet I didn’t really mean, I just intend to not use it half as much. I will be checking mail, hopefully posting some photos and blogging some.

I am very glad to report that I checked my email now to find the phone number for someone I have not seen in about 4 years waiting for me and indeed we are meeting up on Monday. This is a good thing 🙂

Flight was good, Duty Free was good (some nice books and a cd/mp3 discman too). Still not feeling the best, going to have an early night’s sleep I think and then out and about.

So um off to Dublin now. Not going to be online that much over the next week so I’ll catch up with everything when I get back.

I’m feeling a lot better which is good and looking forward to getting out of this country 🙂

The V has been running V Idol lately, basically it’s take on Pop Idol and the like. In it’s own style it has descended into chaos. Today we have been voting for the winner. This image was posted as an attempt to curry favour with the voting public.

FAVOUR CURRIED!

I feel like I’m directing troops from some far off command post. I woke up this morning at about 8.00 which is of course the normal time I would have an alarm set for. Had a drink and went back to bed. 1.00 rolls around and I wake up again. I turned on my phone…this was my first mistake. So one quick call to the office later and I’m sitting on my bed online directing some efforts.

We had a call last night to sort all this out, it was a good call. Everyone know’s what they needed to know, they didn’t need to have me rung to ask me questions we had covered last night. Bastards.

Anyway I warned them about this one so *shrug*. It’s not quite at the point where I have to go in but I’m thinking it might be getting there. I can’t access most of my mail and I have none of the tools I need to do anything but advise.
