I am annoyed. I cannot find my discman. It is somewhere in the mess around abouts. It contains in it the new album from Ryan Adams which I would like to be able to listen to a couple of times before Wednesday night. I’ve been listening to Gold and Demolition instead. On that note I thought it was time to go and update the sidebar but I’ve gotten bored of that already. It takes too much effort for so little return. I’ll take it away and figure something else out later.

On the plus side I found the tickets for all the gigs till the end of the year so I have a nice pile beside my bed.

I sorta left High Rise a few days ago as it wasn’t holding my interest. Not really sure why, the story wasn’t bad but it was just what I expected and written a bit stuffily I guess is the word. I am now reading Dude, Where’s my Country by Michael Moore. A good while back I lent my Dad; Stupid White Men and he gave it back saying that Moore was just sprouting too much shite for him. I’m seeing this way too much in this book. SWM I loved. It made me laugh so much. I read it while trapped in an airport for a couple of hours and I loved it. I was hoping for good things from this one but so far nada. It’s not bad by any means and I will finish it but it’s not doing the same.

Gotta order some furniture tomorrow. I need two big bookshelves to hold books and stuff and I want a couple of cd racks. Something to hold at least 200 cds in some sort of smallish nice ordered space. Good intentions and all that. I also have to get a TV license and go to the post office to get some stamps. Then I want to get a redirect on mail at my old address for a few months till I get everything changed over and stop having stuff going there. I believe my boss is back from his holiday aswell so I guess it will be quite a catch-up throughout the day too.

Yay…fun all around on top of the lots of other stuff going on with you know actual work.

The dog is going away for a month plus on Friday, it’s a shared custody thing. So just as I get use to a dog being around, she off and disappears for a month. Ah well.

Man it’s gonna be a good week…well maybe some downers here and there but it is really shaping up to be a good week.

I’m feeling kinda tired, I’m going to have to try to get to the next checkpoint in Halo and then sleep. Hopefully better than last night which was again characterised by strange dreams and wakefulness. *shrug*

Right, time to shoot stuff.

So back to iframes and run two blogs?
Change over from blogger to typepad or so..hmm off to have a look anyway.

Hmm not really any use and I can’t install Moveable Type so I guess Blogger it is. Which brings us right back to iframes, or template editing on a regular basis.
I wonder about putting some sort of small table in here next to the peramlink with the album playing instead. Guess a quick test won’t hurt 🙂

No, of course it won’t work because I had not thought it through.

I have 3 gigs this week. Wednesday; Ryan Adams, Thursday; Radiohead (I’m so looking forward to this) and Sunday; Echo and The Bunnymen. What a week 🙂

I did spend most of the morning trying to get through to Ticketmaster to find out where my Ryan Adams ticket was and kept getting an engaged tone. I was thinking they could have sent it to my old address and that I needed to go out there and collect it as Katrina is away and not brinig post in. I finally got through to them about 20 minutes ago…and thought to look in my drawer here in case I had got the tickets…seconds later I hung up. D’oh.

This morning was bad. I woke up and I knew it was late. I remember setting my alarm clock late last night. I don’t remember turning it off this morning. Anyway it was 9am and I was running late. I was doing well on the tube front until it just sat in Green Park for a while. Ah well.

I have 5 gigs between now and the end of the year and maybe a couple more. I really should keep a listing of who I see, when and where. I startd to last year, I wanted to keep a page per gig with a setlist and stuff like that but it never really got going. Maybe I’ll dig that up again.

God, roll on Thursday night. I’m suppose to be off at a training course for Thursday and Friday but I’m quite thinking about canceling. I don’t know if I have the time to do it. Have to see how it goes closer to the time I guess.

God I am so bored right now.

I spent some time messing around on the net tonight, done a small blitz on Delphi cause it seemed to be the best I could dig up. Done some Nada Surf and now back to Springsteen for my music. Lyrics are a good thing.

One year ago today I got out of bed a couple of hours too early and was sitting at a train station a couple of hours too early. I was standing on the platform with a very hungover friend. We were waiting on a train.

I was in Tokyo.

Just thinking about that depresses me. It was a full year ago and what has changed? A hell of a lot actually, in work and outside of work. But nothing important has changed and that sucks. I’m still single, I’m still doing the same job, I’m still in the same city. Actually quite a lot has changed. I’m working with different people, I live in a different place, I’ve done a hell of a lot since then but I don’t think my life has changed.

Should it have?

Not this weeks, not this months, in some cases not this years or even this centurys centurys comics but it’s late on a Sunday and I’m bored. It’s been a cold and wet weekend and I’ve done a lot of reading.

Daredevil.
Reread most of volume 2 today. The Kevin Smith stuff I always look back on and think was weak…and then I read it again and it’s actually not. It’s nicely built up and Joey Q is a fine artist. Highly enjoyable but no where near as enjoyable as Bendis!

I like David Mack, I enjoy his art and I have some Kabuki which I enjoyed. Now get him the fuck off Daredevil. Echo is fine, go write about Echo but make it a mini somewhere else, I may even buy it. But give me back Bendis & Maleev goodness!

Powers.
Read the first 30 issues of this last night and it really does read much better in trades or a run. Much more fun and much tighter all tied together. I had been thinking that it got weaker as it went along but it doesn’t really. It was just reading it spread over months which took some stuff away. Supergroup has such a great ending.

The Red Star.
I picked up the trade of this a few weeks ago and put it on the shelf to read at a later date. Alex mentioned it the other day (and by mentioned I mean raved about it) so I read the collected edition a couple of nights ago. I am now firmly onboard the Red Star bandwagon. I don’t recall reading a series that I’ve been as impressed with straight off as this. The art is oh so lovely and backed up by a not bad story at all. Went onto my pull order straight away.

Hellblazer, the Ennis trades.
Again due to a conversation with Alex, we were talking about Carey and Azz’s take on Constantine and she said to read these. So I did. The first two are great and the ending is great. The middle is less great but still good fun and very different from what I’ve read in the last couple of years. Dangerous Habits could work quite well for the movie but does really need a Constantine who can act.

Rex Mundi.
Slow but pretty. Just gone monthly and the story really needs to pick up the pace to keep me onboard in singles. The first 5 are due out in a trade soon which I’m glad to see as I do think it deserves it but to keep me on board in singles I want some plot progression.

Currently downloading: Radiohead – Towering above the rest (10 cds of rare, bootleg, b-sides, outtakes and live tracks)

Whoo hoo. I see them on Thursday. The ticket is already in my hands 🙂 🙂

Listening to some of Alex’s music recently. Decided that I like The Dave Matthews band and will more than likely pick up some of their stuff.

It’s very cold outside and it is raining and it is dark. I left my flat for a grand total of one hour this weekend and even that was too much.

I watched Intolerable Cruelty this afternoon. It was allright. Funny in places but I still don’t find Catherine Zeta Jones attractive.

I am now re-reading Daredevil volume 2 from the start. Tis been a good weekend.

I’ve been having the strangest dreams lately.

– I watched 24 3-5pm last night. I see a shark.
– Sorted some comics the other night so I yesterday I re-read Powers 1 – 30. Some great stuff in there.
– It’s pissing down rain, not every nice outside at all. Guess I shall stay in all day again today…or maybe walk up to Starbucks and hit the shop too.
