So tonight is the party. We have ludacrious amounts of booze and food in. People had better show up. I am going to be so hungover on Thursday.

I’m starting to look forward to it, the party not the hangover. It could be really good fun. I also intend to not do anything stupid.

I’m not in work till Monday. This is good news. Lot of Eve time 🙂

Oh yes we have a projector tv now, it’s pretty damn sweet.

oh and there is nothing wrong with taking a trip down memory lane, living there is the problem.

It’s been nagging at me for a couple of weeks but that’s what I wanted to say.

I decided upon going to bed last night that I really was not in the mood for some hard sci-fi, so I started off on Robin Hobb’s fantasy Farseer Trilogy which I had wanted to read last week but couldn’t lay my hands on easily. A few days ago I found an unpacked bag of books and there it was.

The Office special was more of the same and very funny. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to part 2 tonight.

This morning I woke up and of course played Eve for a while. Then I went to start cleaning up some stuff. Not done the washing in a couple of days. The urge to clean soon overtook me and I started cleaning the kitchen. To cut a long story short I had to go to the supermarket to get some stuff to clean with and sort the sink out…so I went out for one thing in particular (a wash basin) and various other things tacked on. Of course I got everything else but they had no wash basins. Typical. Ah well I shall work around it.

So after going for a wash basin, I ended up spending £32. It’s not so bad when I take into account that includes a £12 bottle of vodka (preparing for new years).

I was looking back at something I wrote last year a couple of days ago and I spent the entire time reading it, cringing. One day I’m sure I’ll be able to write…practice makes perfect right?

Watched a HBO special on Sigur Ros this morning too, enjoyed the hell out of it and really great quality for the songs. Also hooked up my speakers after canibalising the printer. Looks like I’m finally getting PC World to reply to me which is a good start.

And now, some food and some Alias I think.

I’ve started reading the latest Alistair Reynolds, Absolution Gap. On one hand I’m looking forward to getting through it a lot. On the other hand I’m not so looking forward to close on 60 pages of tough hard sci-fi.

I’ve just seen Runaway Jury and it’s the best of the Grisham adaptions so far. Excellent cast working on an excellent script.

Enjoying the hell out of Alias season 2 so far. It’s good solid fun. I changed Eve’s settings to not use the sound card at all so I’ve got a couple of windows going. Running stuff like this in windows is great. I still have system resources left too 🙂

Net is nice and fast this morning. I have Radiohead live at Glastonbury this year ready to be burnt to a DVD. I really gotta get me some of them. May well head out to PC World tomorrow for the sales and see what is what.

Yesterday was good all round. We were told around 11am that we were being sent home at 2. Not that we could go home but that we were as the building was closing. This was all fine and good and meant we went on lunch earlyish. A nice steak bagutte and a pint set the scene nicely. Then back to the office to really just fuck around for a while.
Andy had a late train to get to Bristol and needed to kill some time…so a few drinks, some pool and some quiz machine was in order. This carried on until about 5ish. At which point I wanted to show up for a while at a small V birthday party going on in town. So Rich came along to that while Andy went off for his train. So we sat in there drinking (doubles as they were dirt cheap) until they closed up at 9pm at which point a bus home was in order.

A single quick episode of Alias and then into bed around 11ish. I had planned on watching Vanilla Sky but while the DVD was spinning up, I found the greatest 100 moments of TV over the past year into the early teens and stuck with that. A lot of soap shite and alot of reality tv which I think says alot about the viewing public.

This morning I am playing Eve, getting some mining done to get some cash. The sound track to this is Funeral for a Friend. Yesterday was a lot of The Pixes. I note with interest that in Amazon’s already posted January sale, there are a number of old Pixes albums for £5. I may have to investigate.
