40 minutes after I sat down to write I’ve managed to get at most 3 lines out before deleting them as shit and move off surfing randomly.

Fuck it, tomorrow maybe.

Fuck you George Bush.
Fuck you John Kerry.

The death of Christopher Reeve is NOT a fucking chance to score election points you cunts. BBC News.

I’m not sure if it’s right to say the worst thing about this but it does feel that way a little so I’m going to go with it.

I never believed a man could fly.

I did believe that a man could walk.

Robot Fist is strapping on its weapons, clipping up its gunbelt and
sticking knives down the sides of its boots as it prepares once more
to make an assault on the nigh-impregnable Castle Pop-Culture. Inside
waits the Fuhrer, and tonight he must fall!

The first wave of assault comes in the form of our two regular Pop
Pugilists, Lawrence Rider and Amy Mather, who both tackle TV head-on –
Lawrence launches a witch-hunt against televangelists while Amy fights
on behalf of Coronation Street, done wrong at the hands of EastEnders.

Under cover of darkness, five more of Robot Fist’s reviewers sneak
into the cinema. James Lyon rages against the machine with the new
Metallica documentary; Matthew Craig marvels at the fighting style of
Hero; Seth Goolnik steps into Dead Man’s Shoes; Frances Ambler deals
with the fierce volleys of Wimbledon; and the curiously-named
Horselover Fat teams up with that violent messiah, the Punisher.

One-Man Music Review Army Rich Hurley locks and loads on five targets
this issue: Bad News, Brother Danielson, Clinic, The Paper Chase and
Red Krayon. He’s ably assisted by his support squad of Alistair
Kennedy, who takes on R.E.M.; Isla Leaver-Yap, who digs a grave for
Elliot Smith; and Carrie Graham, who gets punchy with
Brian Wilson’s legendary lost album Smile.

Matthew Craig gives ’em Hell with a comics double-header of
recently-filmed Hellboy and about-to-be-filmed Hellblazer – which
comes out on top?

Finally, Alistair Kennedy makes a kamikaze run on the aptly-named new
Terry Pratchett novel, Going Postal.

That’s not forgetting the stockpile of articles to be found in our
Archives and the war of words to be fought in our Forum, of course.
Look! There goes Robot Fist, the glorious liberator! Our people shall be free!

I’ve taken over the web stuff for this and my first issue is now complete (and hopefully bug free). The updating was a tad hellish but it’s all done now and looks good. Next time should be a whole lot easier.

It’s been a fairly good weekend. Last night was off to a nice pub near to Oxford Circus to celebrate Chris turning 30. It was a good night, lots of good conversation and the Guiness wasn’t bad.

Today was quiet. Some gaming here and there and Alex and I want to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow which was quite good fun and made me laugh. So that was good.

Just failed another Task Force in CoH. Joined up to find we were going in without a healer, figured it was worth a shot. And it was, we did really well. Almost no deaths until the end of course. We were still fighting strong, but just not good enough to get back from the hospital in time. Ah well, I was at the debt cap anyway and sure I’m close to levelling. I want to time it so that I only level within the mission so that I will only be a single level down. I’ll work on that tomorrow. I’ve been badge hunting a bit and done very well there. Managed to find a take down a Kraken this afternoon so a nice badge there and the other leader kills are coming along nice. Get all the basics into place and I may actually geta real bonus from them soon!

Not that much on this week. The next few weekends are stacking up bigtime. Aside from the comic festival, it’s October and everyone has a birthday. Chatting in the pub last night, it turns out there could be V drink ups for the next 6 weeks. Took it fairly easy at last nights which was good so will do the same for the rest with one notable exception of course.

I’ve been quiet here lately, I know. I’ve had some things on my mind and not really been in a writing mood. More on all that late.

On the bad news front, due to some paperwork fuck ups (they lost it) it appears that the course I wanted is now full and I can’t have it. I have not completely given up hope and I’ll go looking for a plan B to implement in the morning.

Oh that reminds me, for no real good reason but it did. I was out of the office all day Friday, which was nice, at a training course. First of several being run at work and it was a test out. So it Effective Communication tailored for my company. I’m not the best at communication, I never have been. It’s a weakness but I am aware of it. I’ve a couple of things which I try and do which I usually don’t, make and hold eye contact and use people’s names while I’m talking to them.
We spent most of the day talking about rapport and I get the idea of it, I’m not sure I get the actual reality of it. I think that if someone was watching and matching my breathing I’d be a little freaked out rather than going in a better rapport. Not sure there is anything there I’ll use, I always think I’ll try but then scoff at them for being silly little things. I guess I’ll try and mirror some hand movements but I know it’s going to feel awkward and come across rather badly. So I’ll probably not.

Anyway it was a good day. There were 9 of us there from work and it was good to meet new people. What was better was it was only two guys including me from work and a roomful of cute girls. There are worse ways to spend a day. We finished up quite early too, getting home early was a good way to round things off.

Oh nerdy stuff again. New Learning skills in Eve are nice, boosting my attributes a whole lot and I’ll be able to fly a second series of Battleships tomorrow at this rate. Quite likely to go for Cruiser V now, it’s getting more realistic. I reckon the new skills will knock a third of the time required from it. In fact with less than half of them trained, it’s knocked 1/6 already. Yay!

I’m stuck on an email…again. It’s the reply to the last one I was stuck on which I mentioned here a while ago. I’m wondering if someone said something which lead to all of this. To be honest I don’t really care if they did, it’s been a whole long time and ya know things change. At least they should right? It certainly confirms something that I’m not sure anyone believed me on, she ain’t Amy. I’m hoping that at least one person will get that, if they don’t then it turns out it is my family reading this and then well things will get even more interesting. I think I’m in the not really giving a fuck stage there too. After all the really interesting stuff gets friend only posted in Live Journal. No wait, that’s not true, there isn’t really any interesting stuff.

I’m helping out on Robot Fist now for a while. I still spell it Robot First every single time, even when I know that I have to avoid typing that. Just one of those things. New issue soonish, I may in fact be doing that tomorrow. I’ve got to get onto that first thing in the morning now that I think about it actually. It will be good to do, I’ve not done web stuff in a while and it’s a chance to do that and help out some lovely people.

Last week Alex and I were talking as we wandered down to Camden and she said something about a Sam Beckett reference. Of course I went straight off to Quantum Leap and she was talking about Samuel Beckett. Alex then told me, she had never seen Quantum Leap. I was pretty surprised to be honest. Everyone should see it. Up’s and downs like everything of course but without a doubt the best series finale of anything I’ve ever seen. I remember seeing it for the first time on Sky One repeats when they took a break from Star Trek twice daily. I didn’t expect to be coming home from school and having something on at 5pm make me cry. It really is a pinnacle. It’s a show which badly needs to be released on DVD…and as I go to Amazon to make sure it has not…it turns out the first season was just a few months ago and the second is due end of the year. “Add to Basket”. Must actually round myself up and get a .com order going (well I really mean from the excellent DVDSoon.com).

Somewhat late as I finished it quite a few days ago, Richard Morgan’s Market Forces is excellent. Great ending, nothing that you expect throughout working out the way you expect and another decent lead. The fact that it may aswell be the same character as his other books aside, it’s great. Happy to sign up for his stuff on day of release now.

And that appears to be that, now I’m going to sleep.
