There is a thread going on at the moment on the WEF about Best TV Moments ever and DS9 is starting to pop up a lot. It’s gotten me thinking how much I miss that show. It had so many single wonderful moments and they were all character moments. I want this show on DVD. I want to be able to sit here and watch it as and when I wish. Borrowed from Dan in the thread, this is possibly one of the best descriptions of what made DS9:
“The Die is Cast”- after all that’s happened in the episode, with Garak’s shop destroyed, the Obsidian order wrecked by the Dominion, and his father Enebran Tain dead (Paul Dooley playing WAY against type), Garak returns to the wreckage of his life. Odo, who’s been stuck with Garak for the whole bloody ordeal and was even tortured by Garak at one point under the orders of Tain, enters the shop and invites him to breakfast.
“But you don’t eat breakfast, constable.”
“I know.”
Robinson’s reaction to this small gesture of friendship is silent and beautifully understated.
Just think of DVD box sets, man I so want them.
