Captain Marvel.

A while ago I blogged a bit about some stuff going on around Peter David’s Captain Marvel. Well theatrics came and went, but today I picked up the relaunched issue 1. Aside from a lovely cover by the one and only Alex Ross, it has Chris Cross at his best and a pretty damn good story from Peter. I’m definatly going to be picking up this series.

Also it is worth noting that the oversized hardcover The Absolute Authority is stunningly pretty.

Hungover…again

So last night was beers and more beers and then some vodka and then some whiskey and then some more vodka. *sigh* A quiet couple of drinks after work turned into a long night out ending up in Po Na Na’s and not getting home till sometime after four a little the worse for wear.

Very pissed off that after we paid in to the nightclub we found it was a night in aid of Fox-Hunting and the door money was going to support the Country Side Alliance. Not impressed with that at all. Had I known before I would not have gone in there.

Talent however was stunning. Music was shit interspersed with moment of genius. Quite a bit of Michael Jackson classics which was good, some Guns N’ Roses which was good, Snap’s Rhythm is a Dancer which was perfect but lots of “urban garbage” mixed in around it.

Spent most of the night just drinking chatting and of course enjoying the views on the dancefloor. All in all a good night but I don’t think I’m gonna have breakfast anytime soon.

I have just found out that the Scooter song I quite liked The Logical Song is actually a remix of an old Supertramp song.

Hungover.

So last night was beers and more beers and then some vodka. Fortunatly this was all with good company and a good night was had. For various reasons, but mainly due to people dropping out like flies there was only a few of us left going out. So we stayed local. After about an hour I realised I had left something on my desk and headed back to the office to pick up my PDA. Came back to the pub with some of the late working stragglers and we had a good night.

Mozilla.

Right I figured it was high time I played with Mozilla for a while. So I’m using it now (and boy blogger really does not like it) and I’m gonna put it on cd and bring it home and give it a try for a while. Using the latest beta 1.2a and I will let you know how it goes.

I just pressed the wrong buttons on the vending machine. I have a can of Tango Orange instead of Orange Juice. I am not impressed. This does not bode well for the rest of my day.

All quiet on the western front

So not that many updates lately. Fairly simple reason for that, there isn’t anything going on other than work. And work isn’t really a good subject at the moment. And that is all I have to say about that so its kinda quiet here.

Tomorrow night I’m going out with a group of friends into town and the plan is to have a night out. I’m not sure how many people are actually still on for this. It sounds like it could just the usual crowd which isn’t a bad thing but the point was kinda to bring in some new blood. Ah well

Yes my sentences run on. A friend pointed this out to me recently, and it is very true. I don’t tend to stop sentences as much as perhaps I should. A simple comma will allow me to keep going. I guess it feels more natural to talk that way and as a result I tend to write that way. I am more aware of it now. I am also trying to stop doing it. I have edited at least three sentences in this paragraph alone!

The Rising is still going strong for me, despite the fact I picked up a double cd dance compilation a couple of days ago. It’s not too bad and makes a change now and again. Handy to have something with a decent beat to get lost in every now and again.

TV season has just kicked off in the US this week and things are starting to get back to normal. Gonna have to catch up on my Enterprise from last season and jump into the new season. Looking forward to Buffy and Angel returning and first looks at Firefly and Birds Of Prey. Some stuff I might catch up on aswell, but I’ll just have to see how it all goes.

Fuck I need a proper computer and broadband at home. I don’t know if I can afford it right now with this holiday coming up, it would make watching and getting stuff so much easier nevermind allow me to actually play some games. I will consider it…*sigh* yes my name is Dave and I have no willpower, Dell in a new window then.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

So I have finally read this. I have not been able to track down a hardcover for an reasonable price, they were going for way too much on eBay. The trade came out last week so I picked it up. I only got around to reading it this morning, my hour long bus trip to work let me read it all…

So I enjoyed it. It was solid entertainment as one can expect from Alan Moore. Some really nice concepts using some good characters from the period. I err enjoyed it. Thats all folks. I will still be keeping an eye out for the HC.

So I went to bed early last night, I was in bed shortly after 10. I had 26 pages left to read in my book so I finished them off, ending the first Riftwar Saga for me.

At 1:30 I just gave up trying to sleep and had a drink and read for another while. I have no idea what time I dropped off at, but I know I didn’t sleep well at all for the rest of the night and it was after 11 when I got into work this morning 🙁

*sigh*

Today was so very shit.

So we went for drinks tonight, uninvited company and all. It was a fun night I guess, more beer not being all that good of an idea. I don’t get why anyone would choose not to get my sarcasm all the time. It really annoys me when I get grief because someone takes every single thing I say as being what I mean and not sarcastic. They should know better.
*sigh*

roll on holidays.

I feel like I’ve spent the entire day arguing with people. Not about anything people would normally argue about, but about work stuff it all just feels so bad. It is just so very shit and I hate it all.

I think I’m just going to give up on today and go to bed, I’m so very tired. goodnight
