People Person

I am not a people person, I freely admit that. I have never been and I don’t really ever expect to be. I am by no means the worst person like that, but I’m not great. So I don’t do well with people that I don’t know in someway or that I don’t click with.
{side note}You know the way sometimes you can just click with someone? Something triggers it, a common passion or interest, a similar sense of humour, physical attraction or even that je ne sais quoi.{/side note}
Anyways it can lead to alot of uncomfortable situations at parties, events or work etc. The uncomfortable silence settles in and I would expect that is something everyone is in some way with familiar with. I tend to go to alot of sci-fi and comics cons or events and it’s still quite hard despite the fact that every single person attending is there for the same reason you are. Everyone has a common interest, be it a tv-show, a movie, an actor, a comic or a writer etc. But it can be tough. Like many of my ‘deeper’ posts I have no idea where this is going but it’s going.

To go to a whole other note for a while. I have discovered “Kurt Busiek ‘s Astro City” and it is a wonderful comic. The first TPB “Life in the Big City” was excellent, one of the best reads I have had in a while. The other TPB I picked up, “Confessions” was even better. I am looking forward to picking up the rest of the series in the very near future.

ah yes DK2 #2. On first reading I was no impressed with this, on second reading I took alot more from it and quite enjoyed it. It is however nothing special, certainly nowhere near the original or any other high point in the Batman universe. It’s a fun read and I am looking forward to the last part but it’s not going to be the first thing I read in my next comic lot.
soundtrack: “Hey Baby” by No Doubt

In line with a whole other post to come later tonight maybe, I HATE training people. I can’t do it well unless they already know what I’m talking about. Then I can at the least do it, but I still hate it. I am so not a people person and it shows through so badly
soundtrack: “On the Radio” by Nelly Furtado

I am really looking forward to reading Straczynski ‘s Amazing Spiderman #38. I had been looking forward to #37 but it felt like kinda filler. The preivew here is what I was waiting for 🙂

The very detailed legel paper filed by Gaiman against McFarlane. It’s pretty impossible to read but the fax’s between both parties are very straightforward and it’s something I look forward to seeing continue. I want to read Mircleman someday. I suspect the day this trial ends, if Gaiman is sucessfull Marvel will announce the Mircleman collection in TPB.
soundtrack: “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica with Mick Kamen and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra

I’m listening to “Siamese Dream” by the Smashing Pumpkins at the moment and I’ve just reached one of my favorite tracks by them Today. The first 30 seconds or so are just magic and then 35 seconds in you get the wonderful vocals from Billy Corgan.

Pro baby Pro!

After finally getting Paypal all set up and confirmed I am know using Blogger Pro. So far I like what I’m seeing 🙂

My archives have been causing a lot of problems so hopefully Pro will sort them out

🙂 Ya know an evening sitting on my bed online might seem sad to a number of people, but considering I’ve spent the past few hours talking to some of my closest friends (in both “rl” and online), I consider it time well spent. Now off to read some comics 🙂
