Have you see a cripple dance?
Pay your money, baby
Now’s your chance
Eyes like cyanide
I am so dumb
Just beam me up
I’ve had it all forever
I’ve had enough
Remember, you promised me
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
I want to, I need to be
Under your skin
Our love is quicksand
So easy to drown
They steal the gravity, yeah
From moving ground
Remember, you promised me
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
I want to, I need to be
Under your skin
And now I understand
You leave with everything
You leave with everything I am
Withering
And now I know that love is dead
You’ve come to bury me
There’s nothing left here to pretend
Anything
Remember, you promised me
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
I want to, I need to be
Under your skin
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
I’m dying, I’m dying, please
Under your skin
Under your skin

Dying by Hole, band de jour.

I’ve started having breakfast every day in work. Not just having a breakfast, but having a healthy breakfast. It’s probably way over due and it’s a good chance for a sit down and chat in the kitchen here so that’s good too. I also feel alot better around the 11.30 mark than I normally do. So um yes.

Almost a quiet weekend all round. Friday night was out with the V for the evening with clubbing scheduled for afterwards. A breakaway party went to a late bar instead and that was far more fun. Handy to chat there aswell. Saturday morning didn’t really happen, then aside from a trip to the comic shop, it was mainly an Eve weekend.

I moved down to Immensea, narrowly avoiding some Corp1 on the way and then spent the rest of the weekend hunting with III. It was good good fun and has shown me several things I need to change about my setup. Will be working down there for a week or so I think, Getting close to having the next level of battleship paid for. I have over 50% of the mins and the blueprint copy sitting in my hanger. Making 3-4 million a day hunting and hopefully some mining in there will be very helpful. The loot modules will be sold on for a nice profit too of course.

Anyway enough of that. Comics wise, the new Queen & Country trade was to Rucka’s usual high standard but the art was very patchy. In places the style was changing from page to page and I wasn’t impressed by it. Niles and Templesmith’s Dark Days was ok, nothing like as fun as 30 Days of Night but with some gorgeous artwork and a nice last page.

I have some code to pump this into a livejournal which I have to play with. I had meant to do it over the weekend but never really got around to it. Not so sure on pushing everything to there, it’s much more searchable (not to mind findable) than this place here (not that this is hidden away really) and so I’ll think about it. It’s handy for being able to comment on others and that’s a good thing, the rest…I’ll see.

Curious to know who xara.net is now.

Finished off Revelation Space last night, it’s an excellent excellent book. Moved onto Chasm City and it’s a more recent read so fresher but still good fun.

So I get embaressed pretty easily, usually over pretty girls. I guess after tonight those on the V who were not aware who held my interest, are now. Hopefully I’ll get the good word in anyway.

London is a really lonely place.

*sigh* I lost a post as my client crashed. I’m running way too much stuff.

I checked my first ever email address for the first time in about a year today. There was over 12500 messages in there. Of the 7k I have seen so far, ALL were spam. Gotta love the internet.

While searching for an old friends email address in my inbox, I came across an email I sent a few months ago and that led me onto the blog posting all about it. Still the entry I’m most proud of (boy did I let alot out that night) and the reason I’ll always point to for me having this blog. Anyway I’m glad to be sitting here 6 months later, back in touch with number of the people I lamented not being in touch with in that email.

Slept pretty well last night and actually felt good on the way to work. This is an unusual thing. The new washing machine arrived and it was really nice to get stuff through. I was pretty much out of clothes as of today so it was good timing. Alex and I shall be fighting over it for a few days I suspect.

Goatboy has landed and arrived safely and all is good there. I could well make the whole night out tomorrow, messy as it may be.

I often wish I was a more creative person. Of course I’d love to write comics or better still a novel, but fortunately for you lot I do know my limitations and have no intention of doing so. But it does annoy me when some people are who genuinely creative just throw it away. It’s one of those things that too few people have and it should always keep going.

Man did I have some really strange dreams last night. There was a Russian girl in my college class who was really cute. I have not seen her in 5 years or so yet last night, there she was serving beer behind a bar. Very strange. She was really cute too.

I blame the drugs, of course I blame the drugs.

I watched the pilot for Millennium the other day. It’s been along time since I’ve seen it and it’s still really good stuff. Today came confirmation of the first season box set out in DVD in a couple of months, I really really want this. It was such a great show with such wonderful imagery and such great music.

Just found a Sessions at AOL feature with four tracks from Damien Rice, so that’s going to do me nicely for the next 20 minutes or so.

Outkast’s Hey Ya is a surprisingly good song and the video isn’t half bad either.

Today was also a bad day. In fact by 3.30 today I had to go home to bed. I feel asleep on the bus on the way several times. I feel a little better after 3 hours sleep but still have quite a headache. Had some food and I’m going to go to bed around 10ish and hopefully sleep through.

Our new washing machine has arrived and been plumbed in so I have my first load of clothes in it in about 3 weeks. This is a very good thing.

I love Google’s definition feature. It’s a nice and simple way to check a dictionary quickly. The “did you mean” option also means that when I misspell the word, it usually knows what I am talking about.

Just had some news confirmed and it’s working out nicely. I’m attending at conference in Dublin for 3 days in the middle of May, a Tuesday – Thursday kinda thing. It’s just been confirmed and the good part of it is, I can take the Monday off and fly back the previous Friday. So I get a weekend at home for nothing 🙂

I’m looking forward to it a hell of a lot now. My next two months are really really full. I have this trip to Dublin, followed by the Bristol Comic Con, followed days later by two Pixies gigs and then off to Download. It’s gonna be a good if expensive month.

Have a guest staying over at our flat for the next week or so arriving today. The goatboy is back in the country and is walking the dog for rent. This is a good thing. It should mean a large crowd out on Friday night and then perhaps onto B-Movie, I’ll see how that one goes closer to the time.

I am enjoying the hell out of Revelation Space. I loved it the first time around, this time it’s even better.

Today was a bad day. About 11am my head started to hurt and badly. It remained that way for the next 7 hours or so and some drugs had no effect. Not a very productive day. I considered going home around 3 ish but never really got around to it.

So got home, watched Alias which was ok and then The Sopranos and then really didn’t do much else. I played some Eve of course and well that’s really that.

Word of the day, and it’s been a long time since we had one of them around here is: melancholy.

Internet! Stop being slow damn you!!!

Right well then, the weekend.

Friday afternoon and Saturday night was spent at the ICA (Institute for Cultural Affairs) helping some of Alex’s friends out with a radio broadcast. To borrow Tim’s term, it was artwank but some of it was interesting and it wasn’t really all that long.

The rest of the weekend was where the fun really was. As mentioned Shaun of The Dead with the V on Friday night and a drink and a chat afterwards. The movie was excellent and I do recommend you go see it.

Sunday was Poker at our place. We started playing about 5pm and were still going at 5am the next morning. Game was Texas Hold ‘Em and it was good fun. I ended down a tenner but it was really good fun. We drank lots, played lots and ate lots of junk food.

Didn’t get very much sleep and ended up exhausted all day yesterday. Which was fine as I had nothing to do but go and see a Kill Bill double bill last night. Alex won a couple of tickets and so we got to see Volume 2 before it opens anywhere in the world. This is a good thing. Overall, not bad at all. I enjoyed the first one a hell of a lot more the second time around and the second one is great. David Carradine completely steals the movie. Quite happy that after the whole splitting it into two movies etc that I only paid to see it one 🙂

Other stuff I watched over the weekend summed up. The Shield. Fucking A! Well that was unexpected, roll on next week. 28 Days Later, finally seen this and I’m left wondering what the fuss was all about. The Butterfly Effect…hmm pretty much crap with the odd good idea never followed through on.

I have a really bad headache, I may well go home early.
