It’s time for a list. Why is it time for a list. Just because.

– I’m really glad to have gotten back in touch with some old friends. Emails bring a smile to my face.
– I’m not blogging that much lately but I like it, I like it a lot and it will keep going.
– Making people smile is an important thing.
– I need a wrist rest, the table and chair where my setup is, well it’s not good for typing.
– Major props to one of the Vsters who decided that enough was enough, he was just going to ask someone out in a post and see what happens.
– The V is doing it’s music of the year round up, I don’t have a single of the year, album has to be Damien Rice’s O with too many honourable mentions to list.
– I started reading some Harlen Corben’s a couple of days ago. Onto my second one Gone for Good. So far it’s good but it’s talking about school girlfriends and things like that and of course this dredges up memories.
– Really looking forward to Metallica on Friday night, turns out there is 5 of us going and it’s gonna be a blast. Hoping for some good stuff from the olden days and a few of the new tracks livened up.
– The musical education continues 🙂
– Is it wrong of me to hope that one day George Bush will be dragged from a hole and tired for war crimes? No, good.
– I wish there was a way for me to count the words and number of posts I’ve written here. That would interest me.
– You know what’s really nice? Balance is nice, especially at the end of the month.
– I am starting to reconsider some of my writing aspirations…the ones I may not have mentioned before. I have someone who would edit and it’s not a big piece. I may begin.
– Work pissed me off today. It was not a good afternoon, then I left and went to the pub to have a chat with a couple of the lads and it wasn’t bad.
– Eve is about to get back online after 6 hours downtime for a major upgrade…I can play for just a little while before bed right?
– I need some blank dvds.
– I like Batman as a character, in particular the Bruce Wayne/Batman dual side. Bendis on Daredevil shows that had he been given Batman when he went looking a few years ago, good things could have been done.
– It’s cold, I’m cold. I need to get some gloves. I have Friday off at last. I have some lunch plans in town and will see about getting some gloves then too.
– Some numbers are more than just numbers
– There ain’t nothing at all in the world with whiny indy boy rock.
– ok sod it. it’s late on Wednesday and the list is not done but I’m going to post it anyway.

Last Fridays Iron Maiden set list:
Wildest Dreams
Wrathchild
Can I Play With Madness
Dance Of Death
Rainmaker
Brave New World
Enter Paschendale
Lord Of The Flies
Hallowed be Thy Name
No More Lies
Fear Of The Dark
Iron Maiden
Journeyman
Number Of The Beast
Run To The Hills.

So much new music these days it’s great. Ryam Adam’s Love is Hell 1 & 2 are growing steadily on me. Gotta bring some stuff in for a listening to in work this week.

Going to have to sort my cds pretty soon, I’m looking forward to it. I have of course got to give the new Metallica album a few more listens to over the next few days. I have Friday off work which will be good, some Eve and then off to the gig. Got some movies to watch aswell, must make an effort to do so this week.

So I go to see Master and Commander which was allright. Booked a ticket for the 16.50 showing so I could pick up a new book before hand. So at 16:48 when work rang about a call at 17:00 I was not impressed. Spoke to my boss, explained that the call was meant to be tomorrow and *if* the other departments were happy to go with it then they had noted my objections but should do it anyway.
I shall find out tomorrow how it went…had I been home or not had a ticket booked I would have gone to the call but I’m mildly pissed off about the whole thing so it can wait till the morning till I can think about it some more. I hate having to make a go/no go decision when I don’t think we should but everyone else does.

I may have mentioned that Maiden brough to an end the gig year? Well there is a minor update to that. Metallica this coming Friday night at Earl’s Court.

Yeehaw!

Oh and signing on was enough to confirm that I can go and see Master and Commander this afternoon and not work that there are in fact no problems for me to deal with today 🙂

Yeehaw!

Funeral for a Friend were the support for Maiden on Friday night. I’d heard of them but not actually heard them. They weren’t bad at all and I picked up their album today it’s pretty good. A little more on the nu-metal side than I would like but overall not bad at all. It’s something I can still see myself listening to in a weeks time.

I lost two ships in Eve today and I’m not happy about it. One was to NPCs but one was to a PC pirate. I have noted his details and fully intend to go hunting for the little fuck when I get some dosh for a ship to take him. Might have to look into a bounty before that. Shithead annoyed me, I had just bought that ship too.

Computer seems to have gotten over it’s teething issues and is running very smoothly. Of course I’ll have gone and jinxed it now.

I really wish I knew what was going on with work. I don’t want to have to go in tomorrow and I don’t know if I’m ok to take the day off. Best bet I reckon is to IM someone in the morning and see what the story is. If not, then the plan is to go and see Master and Commander sometime early afternoon.

Gah need sleep.

So yes, the lack of posting is 100% Eve releated. I’m playing now but doing a mission which involves a good while on autopilot and I’m bored. I have been reading while playing for a lot of the day and soonish I’m gonna see how watching a show in a window works out. I think it should be able to handle it but we shall see.

– London is a big and lonely city
– It’s amazing how being right or left handed affects so many other things. I often think about it as I sit down on a bus or train always having a preference to have my right arm on the outside. The completly knowledgeless guess would be it’s something to do with defense and evolution.
– I’m using Mozilla’s Thunderbird as my mail client at the moment mainly because I don’t like Outlook Express and have nothing else installed. I am tempted to install the client I use in work as I really do think it’s a good one. Tbird isn’t bad so far but have some issues downloading a non US dictionary. On that note I’m off to download Firebird and see how that does for browsing.
– Ryan Adam’s Rock N’ Roll is keeping me going at the moment and has really grown on me. Did I mention I’d booked a ticket to see him again early next year? I’m not sure I did.
– I spent most of today being unable to hear. It was very much like having cotton wool in my ears. I was talking to Alex this morning, or more so she was talking to me and I could barely hear her. Seems to be ok now.
– I really should put together a list of gigs I went to this year. It would be a damn good listings.
– We are having a new years eve party here it would appear.
– Alex is headed back to the states for a couple of weeks which gives me a chance to get all of my stuff finally sorted without getting in her way.
– I watched the first half hour of the Battlestar Galactica remake today. It was ok, nothing special. Will watch the rest tomorrow I think.
– Without autopilot I think I would be finished with Eve already. There are a lot of lags where I’m looking for something else to do.
– Fuck it all, I may have to go to work tomorrow.
– I need to buy myself UltraEdit for home.
– Spell check tomorrow when I get stuff sorted.

Wish You Were Here by Ryan Adams
Cotton candy and a rotten mouth
You know you’re so fucked up
You know I couldn’t help but have it for you

And everybody knows the way I walk
And knows the way I talk
And knows the way I feel about you
It’s all a bunch of shit
And there’s nothing to do around here
It’s totally fucked up
I’m totally fucked up
Wish you were here

And streets that only turn to boulevards
And houses with back yards
and it’s raining like hell on the cars
And everybody knows the way I walk
And knows the way I talk
Knows the way I feel about you
It’s all a bunch of shit
And there’s nothing to do around here
It’s totally fucked
I’m totally fucked
Wish you were here

And if I could have my way
We’d take some drugs
And we’d smile
We’d smile
We’d smile
But not tonight, my dear
Wish you were here
Wish you were here
Wish you were here
Wish you were here

Bring your daughter

Right.
Wednesday night. I know I have to get up at 7 the following morning in order to meet Dave in Starbucks just after 8 to get to the cinema for 8.30. So I put my mobile on loud and over the other side of the room so I have to get up and out of bed to turn it off.

So Thursday morning I wake up with a sudden feeling that I’m late…get out of bed and look out the window thinking that it is lighter than I expected. Look for my mobile where I thought I had left it for about 5 minutes before realising it’s not there. Panic sets in and I go frantically for a clock. It’s 8.20. Pull some clothes on and grab a quick drink. I am about to head out the door when I realise I need to ring Dave and let him know I’m late and that also I can’t leave my phone like that in case I fucked up setting the alarm and it goes off while I’m not there.

2 minutes later I find it, under my pillow on silent. I have no memory at all of getting up, crossing the room, turning it off and going back to bed.

Anyway I make it in there at 8.50 and all is fine. I spot Dave in the queue and join him. Am somewhat amazed by people queuing for the premiere later that night. Anyway go in through metal detectors and have to leave our mobiles behind the counter…however they let Dave take his laptop in which was kinda strange.

Anyway the film was great, it was very very long and so very awesome in places but the Hobbit stuff was too long and in some places very boring. The weakest movie of the lot but that’s not saying very much 🙂

Met up with Andy in an O’Neills in Clapham Junction where we had some food and a couple of beers. Then onto a pub in Brixton for a quick drink with couple of Andy’s mates and then onto Brixton.

Kings of Leon were excellent. They came out around 9.15 and the audience went wild. The sound for the first song was really shit and I was quite disappointed that it would be a bad gig. They got it mostly sorted (I still think the lead vocals could have been louder) and it was a fucking great gig. I’ll see them live again any chance I get.

Tonight is my last gig of the year, Iron Maiden in Earl’s Court right after work. Looking forward to this a hell of a lot.

EVE is fucking rocking my world. I am suppose to have Monday off and I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. Not sure work wise if I have the weekend off nevermind Monday.

Been watching some stuff to get caught up so I can return Nick’s laptop, 24 isn’t that good, I believe the next episode of the season is an improvement and I hope so. Also caught up on some Smallville which isn’t bad at all. Nothing special but some good fun.

More later maybe.
