I read The Red Star<\/i> collected edition last night. It is easily the best new comic I have ever read. I don’t think anything I’ve read before blew me away quite like it did. As I look around at my shelves a quite a few decent comics on my shelf there isn’t much that stands up to it. Go and buy it.<\/p>\n
I love broadband. Work is really having it’s ups and downs these days. I’m getting some good results on a daily basis and some really bad results. I’m working in an area which isn’t mine…but I quite enjoy… but not to this extent. I think an email is called for. I spent a while this evening (a good 30 min) composing an email about an issue I have and sending it off and I’m thinking now that it was a waste of my time. I was sending it in-house and so it didn’t need a full polish but originally it was meant to go out-house so I was trying to do a good job. Still time well spent I guess. <\/p>\n The ups are good tho, they actually make me look forward to work for the first time in a good while. I know that when I sit at my desk I will have some visible results by the end of the day and you know I think that’s a good thing personally. <\/p>\n Things are stressed and tense in general tho. A lot of it is tied into people not doing what we need them to do and I think that if we could get some resolution there it would be a great help. I got on the phone and got some information on Monday and that just turned everything around for me. Sometimes if I was allowed to just pick up the phone and ring the person who can ask the question instead of some project\/product manager who will then ask their manager for some time to help me…well I’d get results a hell of a lot quicker.<\/p>\n Contradictory…moi?<\/p>\n I’m reading J.G.Ballard’s High Rise<\/i> and it’s not bad. It feels real, I can just imagine everything happening as described…not sure if that’s a good thing or not.<\/p>\n Um not much else going on really. Drinks this weekend with some friends anyway. <\/p>\n Halo on X-Box, I was expecting more. I know I’m only on the second level but given it’s billing, I was expecting more. \nI hate Woolworth’s. Take the 3 disc Springsteen set to the counter to be handed the 2 cd set and asked for money. When I point out it was the 2 disc set, I was told “yes we are out of the other one” and well the reaction wasn’t good when I said I didn’t want it then. Fuckers. I’m on a kick with the Greatest Hits<\/em> anyway.<\/p>\n
