There would appear to be a new list of email addresses going around. It happens every now and then. Because of who I work for, “hackers” assume I have some sort of access rights which they want to be able to use. Every now and then they will managed to get a listing of current email addresses and they send you spam. Normally it is something like you must click here to keep your account active!!!<\/i> and this takes you to a page which asks you to enter your password and other security information. I’d say we all know better than that but we don’t \ud83d\ude41 Most people do and it is rarely a problem. There are times when people with high level access rights get stung but I’ve only heard of it happening once and it wasn’t me.<\/p>\n
Lately there is a change in the spam, while there is still quite a few mails like the above, there is a hell of a lot (12 in two days) of people posing as customers and complaining about receiving threatening instant messages and asking what to do about it. Now see I don’t get the point of that at all. What I get even less and what has been all of my 5 mails today is a “customer” having received an im with a thread to blow up one of our<\/b> buildings that they just happen to be in but don’t know what to do about it.<\/p>\n
So tell me something…what is the point? Lets say I respond with the correct phone number to dial…what exactly does that do? How does that help you in anyway? I reply and give you a phone number that the term widely available does not even begin to cover…how does that help? What possible use is it.<\/p>\n
Ok I guess it is suppose to be used as a way of setting up a contact, but I mean for fuck sake. You want to talk to someone at this company so badly your going to fake a bomb threat?<\/p>\n
