Yeah it’s kinda news there allright. Basically I will have to admit I guess I would take most of the blame. Travelling back and forward between London and Bristol was always a pain for both of us and I never really liked Bristol (in fact I actively disliked it…). For about 8 months or so I was doing that twice a month and the other two weekends she was travelling to London. It was always an annoyance that this took a lot away from my time, mainly in this case Friday nights out with the guys from work just didn’t happen. There was one time where it was close to 6 weeks before I was able to go out with them and I missed that. I work with a strange group of people but on the whole I enjoy their company and I look forward to a couple of drinks after work whenever it may be.<\/p>\n
Over the past 3 months or so, a lot of things have changed for me. I’m not quite sure it would be 100% accurate to boil it down to a new job, but I think that would be a large cause. I’ve been far happier and I’ve started to feel that I fit in work and indeed more comfortable and indeed happier living in London than I had ever been. I’ve be doing a lot more outside of work, going out more with people from work and others. There were weeks where I was busy 7 days and you know it was good. I enjoyed it. But this had the knockon affect of not travelling at the weekends and indeed not using the phone as much as I had been (or indeed as much as I should have). So that was kinda not good for the relationship. It got to the point where we were seeing each other once a month at best and well that just wasn’t working.<\/p>\n
Neither of us were prepared to move, it was something we had talked about before and one day it was going to happen but it would depend on many things. I had considered moving to Bristol and quite seriously, but then my job situation picked up. On her end, well we have argued about this a few odd times … but in a nutshell she would be easily able to pick up another and indeed better job, but moving is quite a big step and as we have spent the past 3 months pretty much apart it wasn’t going to happen.<\/p>\n
So instead yesterday we pretty much agreed that we were doomed and ended it. 2 weeks shy of one year. I have no doubt at all that she will move on and up to someone who really deserves her.<\/p>\n
